2014 Earth Plot Missions
Overview:
Following in the wake of the Shinigami's Grand Tournament, as festivities were winding down, several explosive devices were detonated in the greater Tokyo area. The devices appear to carry some kind of viral payload, though the nature of the compound is as of yet unknown. It appears to affect humans and spiritual beings alike, and is highly virulent.
The Shinigami who were still present following the events of the tournament were quickly evacuated through Senkaimons while the combined forces of Orpheus and Cerberus moved to aid those in the areas affected by the explosions. A main group composed of the leaders of these organizations rendezvoused near to one of the blast sites to coordinate the relief efforts and try to determine a culprit for the attacks, only to be contacted by their perpetrator directly.
While his identity is unknown, the man appeared to be broadcasting from within Orpheus' tactical command center. After a short conversation with the gathered forces, he detonated three more explosives, aimed at a number of Orpheus and Cerberus assets, disrupting mainline communication, causing significant damage to the remainder of Cerberus' storage and containment facility in Tokyo bay, as well as Shikaku Haretsu, a prison used by Earth's forces to house and contain highly dangerous spiritual criminals.
What this means:
- Earth forces are without mainline communication. Cell phones and other modes of contact still function, however.
- A significant number of civilians, as well as Advents and Shinigami are in need of rescue in the areas affected by the initial attack.
- Orpheus headquarters appears to have been infliltrated by the perpetrator of the attacks.
- Orpheus Commander Hideo Ueda is in critical condition.
- Cerberus' Agoge has sustained heavy damage, causing many containment procedures to fail.
- Shikatsu Haretsu has been heavily damaged, freeing a large number of spiritually-aware criminals.
- The perpetrator remains at large.
What to do:
Threads will be opening shortly as groups reorient themselves. Currently, we need groups to;
- Infiltrate Orpheus HQ to find the mastermind behind the attacks.
- Try to contain the damage at the Tokyo bay complex and prevent the release of virulent chemicals into the city.
- Contain and recapture convicts escaping from Shikaku Haretsu before they can make their way into the city.
- Reestablish communication to allied forces by repairing the main relay in Central Tokyo.
- Coordinate relief efforts around the city to prevent further damage or civilian casualties.
Interested parties can post in here to decide who's going to do what. I'm hoping for no more than three players for each job. NPCs are welcome! Once we've decided who's going where, I'll send out details to each group. Lets get this show on the road.
