Using Feat Slot earned from dese PMs!

Feat Name
Kouken (後見, Guardianship)

Feat Type
Trained

Description
Kouken is the ultimate expression of the connection between a Zanpakutou and its wielder. It is a level of understanding between the two spiritual entities where the separation between master and guardian is both made and understood. One does not merely need to attain manifestation and the name of their Zanpakutou’s Bankai; they must come to know their spiritual partner inside and out via extensive Jinzen sessions with nothing left unsaid between the two.

First Level: Sakai no Kouken (後見の球, Ambit of the Guardian): Sakai no Kouken allows the practitioner to manifest up to three appendages of their manifestation into the real world during combat. For example, the arm or leg or mid-section or even tail of the Zanpakutou’s manifestation form can be summoned as condensed reishi just off of the user’s body. The size can vary though the reach of the appendages may not extend more than 5 meters from the user. They can be used offensively and defensively, their resilience determined by the cost paid for it, and move according to the user’s will.

Upon learning Sakai no Kouken, the user can manifest these 3 appendages for 1 round with an additional round and limb added for every 2,000 Reiatsu gained afterwards, capping at 5 rounds when Bankai is attained and 6 limbs at 16,000 Reiatsu. It costs the user 10% Reiatsu to summon the appendages; the cost/resiliency is spread among each appendage summoned. Additionally, as each Zanpakutou is unique to each user, a minor effect unique to a single specific appendage of the manifestation form may be submitted to Feat staff for approval by all practitioners.

Requirements: Manifestation (10,000 Reiatsu)

Second Level: Bitoku no Kouken (後見の美徳, Virtue of the Guardian): Bitoku no Kouken is the second and final ability granted to the user who has come to master both sword and self, allowing the summoned appendages to manifest the form of their Bankai for use of a single Bankai attack outside of their fully-released state. The user chooses a single attack to use and, once an attack has been chosen, the user may not select another. Additionally, attacks that are constantly-active may only be used for a maximum of 5 rounds, afterwards requiring a 5-round cooldown before using Bitoku no Kouken again.

Requirements: Bankai (15,000 Reiatsu)

Unique effect for Sakai no Kouken:

The ambit of the ‘Herald’s dark dragon, Tatsunokuchi, extends in a form that both befits the blade spirit’s disagreeable essence yet aids Manzou immensely. Whenever the head of Tatsunokuchi is summoned using Kouken, the sharp eyes of the basilisk are linked directly to his, giving him an increased field of vision. However, as they are connected, all debuffs and buffs affecting the ‘Herald’s eyes are shared by the summoned pair. It costs Manzou 1% Reiatsu per round to keep this effect active.

Okie! My last feat idea was too weak and apparently something I could learn if I bothered to meet people! Let's see if I go the other way with this one...

Name: Vesica deus Animus

Type: Unique

Slot Aquired: Chasing Shadows

Development: This feat is uniquely tied to Zakeriah's new releases and is something he has fashioned largely in response to a battle with a Quincy, an opponent that was far more focused on ranged attacks than any enemy the Templar had previously faced. He came to the realization that he needed a way to deal with such opponents. When Zak acquired his new Kai he lost his chains, an integral part of his old form and technique. He was instead awarded with energy bolts that could facilitate the chains in some manners but not combat.

Ability:In his released states Zak has managed to harness these bolts by taking more mastery of an ability already granted by his Bankai to send a bolt out and retrieve his sword for him. He can now physically grab the bolts and hold them stable as if they were chains attached to his arms that he can swing up to about five meters from his body. As long as he holds the bolt it is solid and works just as he might wield an electrical chain, by releasing the bolt it loses cohesion and becomes (mostly) harmless energy again.

Alternatively, by spending 10% rei, Zak can fire a bolt of the lightening energy at an arch that travels 20m. This blast is not intended for continuos use and he can only fire it once per 5,000 rei in a battle (caping at 5). The hope for this technique is simply to attempt to stun an annoyingly ranged opponent enough to close the distance between them.

Using VC slot for Trained Feat

[Sword Slayer] – Trained

Description: Dedication to the blade is an art form both serene and deadly in nature. For one to completely immerse their very soul into its mastery would mean that even attacks that fail to kill would cause affliction and great difficulty against the enemy. A swordsman’s ascension into this heightened echelon of prowess manifests through his or her ability to utterly ravage their target’s defenses, and those who face a true artisan can’t help but tremble in fear at such display of perfection. The swings of their weapon alone herald an immortal power supposedly strong enough to cut entire mountains and rend whole oceans. Fighters who challenge these veterans have even been known to lose their edge upon engaging them.

A practitioner of this technique may be able to embed 750 reiatsu into their sword for one whole turn. When an opponent manages to block their strikes, the aftermath is a damaging physical and psychological effect, causing the opponent to feel the primordial strength with which the masters of the blade control. For every parry and deterrence in that single round, not only will the target feel an increased staggering pressure from the user’s strikes, but also suffer a dire, un-ignorable feeling of dread completely overwhelm and overrun their cognitive senses.

Starting at 10,000 zanjutsu, its usage is restricted to only once per battle. Reusability grows for every 1,000 points more, capping at 15,000 whereas it can be used for five turns in a single fight.

Requirements: 10,000 zanjutsu

Resubmission bought with Kan. My numbers on this are garbage, apologies in advance.

[ Fujin ] - “Inhumanity”
[ Unique Feat :: Arano ]
[ Feat Slot :: Captaincy ]

Once subject entirely to the whims of madness, Arano’s newfound control has not changed what lies beneath the veil of humanity. Madness is a disease that one can never shed, and for Arano that simply means medicating it.

Feeding his lust for violence, upon receiving or dealing a wound to an enemy, Arano’s gains a 3% buff to his Combat stat. This buff stacks for every wound, and he may not obtain more than five stacks at any one time.

By sacrificing a stack, Arano is capable of reinforcing any single offensive ability with the full value of the buff. This removes the buff from Arano’s Combat stat and this infusion lasts the duration of the technique the buff is applied to, with the value added directly to whatever effect is provided by the technique.

EDIT: Changed things up to make them more fun and make this more unique.

-- Stepping in to review Idaten. The others will be done completely after I get back from vacation Sunday.

Idaten - Approved
We have a zan/kidou combo, a hakuda/kidou, and a super kidou school, so I feel as if a hohou/kidou combo is feasible. Up to kidou staff now to figure out the abilities. Talk to me Katie if you want to work on some limits.

[ Rei Genkai ] – “Zero Limit”
[ Feat Slot :: Summer 2009 PMs ]

There are those who undergo pain, and there are those who have their entire being subjected to it. Even in that division, there are those who succumb, and those who resist. Those who resist find themselves in possession of the capacity to surpass all their limitations, pushing beyond the boundaries of their fellows by forcing themselves to an entirely new level of endurance.

Those who acquire Rei Genkai are not limited to a teaching, or a finding. Instead, it is a feat wrought through extensive trauma and reaching one’s true low point in the world, before pulling themselves above it.

Rei Genkai is activated passively upon sustaining any damage. At this point, they enter a state of heightened emotion, usually rooted in any single one. This state is semi-permanent while the feat lasts, allowing them to resist the effects of emotional and mental manipulation. At the same time, their senses are dulled and heightened sporadically, temporarily pushing them beyond physical boundaries to allow for the user to surpass a single stat threshold of their choice for the remainder of the battle without suffering damage.

Swordslayer - Approved w/Note
-- You have the option to resubmit once changing the cost to a percent. That way the strength of your psychological effect will scale.

Trained Feat: The Perfection of the Split Focus

Slot Acquired: Chasing Shadows PM

Description: Since first releasing his zanpakutou Zak has had multiple implements and had to deal with using both and/or his off hand. When he had Iblis his sword hand became a giant club useless for anything other than, well, clubbing...while his off hand held the sickle. Since then Zak has acquired a more standard sword but still has chains of a sort to wield and has also become a considerable hand-to-hand combatant.

This feat allows Zak to use multiple weapons, or fist and weapon at the same time, and use his off hand without any penalty. This allows him to utilize his total body as a weapon at anytime without having to worry about trading strength for diversity. Because of this awareness of his body as well needed awareness of his surroundings this makes Zak more capable of handling multiple opponents (within melee or brawling range) at once. It doesn't improve his speed or ability, simply prevents him from suffering penalties of being harried.

Requires: 5,000 Zanjutsu & Hakuda

Resubmitting a Div Tech. Talked to Hare about this after realizing that the way Senrigan currently is... seeing one turn is completely useless. Because seeing doesn't mean reacting. And it's hard enough to use this because it requires a lot of OOG communication to apply effectively.

.:: Senrigan ::.
(Clairvoyance)

The separate and obscure dimension of time is one that the the average soul can only hope to follow in a single, continuous direction. Mystics however, with their mysterious link to the divine, can access this alternate plane and see beyond the normal and regulated earthly time patterns. By spending 500 reiatsu, the Mystic can pass the ramparts of time and see the next three rounds of their immediate surroundings. This ability allows the clairvoyant practitioner to see the future and prepare the next action accordingly. This ability requires a two-turn cooldown per use.

Yeah, it's me again. Last minute tweaks that I completely forgot about. 5% cost, and it affects an enemy when they both block and evade.

Lacking in flavor text, but two FAs. Still need ones for Lil and Hare.

234,663 : Mineto Mitsuyo (Inkberri)

Shouaku Jukutatsu

[ Shouaku Jukutatsu ] - "Mastered Grasp"

Through his studies into the lines of power embedded in kidou's incantations and rituals, Sayis has discovered a means to realign one of his more oft-used spells: Shouaku. Rather than limiting the spell by physical ability, its potency is now decided by the user's kidou mastery.

By altering the spell, the natural range of Shouaku shortens to one quarter (about 5 yards) and the formerly invisible arm is bathed in the glow of the user's reiatsu.

Kouseido Shouaku and Kyouka Shouaku cannot be used at the same time.
Level One: Kyouka Shouaku

With Kyouka Shouaku, the user can lift a weight equal to 15% of their kidou stat (in pounds). Even amplified, the bakudou caps out at 3,000 pounds at 20,000 Kidou.

Requirement: 3,000 Kidou

Level Two: Kouseido Shouaku

With Kouseido Shouaku, the user can give the kidou a far greater degree of precision, unbinding it from their own arm. While this effect is active, the user can wield the kidou limb as precisely as, or slightly more than, their own arm. Where applicable, the user's skills in zanjutsu or hakuda direct the arm.

Requirement: 4,000 Kidou

Fated Alliance: Ryougawa Seigyo (Shared Control)
As master and student, Sayis and Mitsuyo have taken the study of Shouaku Jukutatsu to a new tier. The spell, even augmented, is typically unable to take hold of or affect living entities or soul-linked items such as zanpakuto. Their involved training and growing bond has allowed them to transcend this, partially. By paying 1% of their reiatsu each per round, plus the cost of the spell, Sayis and Mitsuyo can link their spells with each other.

The shared spell allows the two to grab hold of one another or each other's zanpakuto, and combines their effective range together, allowing Shouaku Jukutatsu to reach up to 10m total (including space between the two).

177,419 : Tsubaki (-Antares-)*

Fated Alliance: Tan Kesshou Tsubasa (Single Crystal Blade)
Together the Dai Kidouchou and the Templar Queen are already a force to be feared, but the combination of Sayis' kidou and Tsubaki's swordsmanship only further widens the gap. Tan Kesshou Tsubasa is created using 10% of Sayis' Kidou and 10% of Tsubaki's Zanjutsu: a broad-bladed greatsword of clear crystal, brimming with raw force. The greatsword can be wielded by either party. With every strike, the sword sets off a violent explosion of pure reiatsu, affecting everything within 5m except the user and depleting the weapon by 1000 reiatsu. When there is no more reiatsu, the sword shatters completely.

Wayne - Your cost has been approved but the ability to cause an effect on someone you don't hit has been denied.

Lil - Denied. After a talk with Hiren we came to the agreement that, as is, your original technique is fine. If a player uses their look-into-the-future tech wrong, its not the fault of the tech.

Cur - Denied. So, with your feat there are a couple of problems. First off, this feat isn't really asking for anything other than a bypass on multi-weapon fighting. You give no limitations on how many weapons someone can wield (and saying common sense should dictate how many will not work here. Common sense is often missing, or often abused. Someone like Hare could take this, go shikai, and wield weapons like Killer Bee). Secondly, as you have it written, it's not a trained feat but a severely underpowered unique feat. The wording for a trained feat needs to be generalized in its effect. If Zak discovered it/created it, then that's one thing. If you resub, please change the wording.

Will - Pending man.

Attempt 2.

Notes: Keeping the 10 second rule since, looking back, I agree that seeing 3 turns is OP. However, I'd like to remove the "once per battle" limit and supplant it with a two-turn cooldown. Please keep in mind that I am using the Evolutionist tech as a gauge for balance which is cheaper (until a character hits 25,000 reiatsu) and can be used unlimited times.

Evolutionist
[Shinkaronsha ] - “Evolutionist”

Trained warriors speak of the moment they enter battle. They speak of the emotion, the awareness, the intuition suddenly granted to them by pure survival instinct. Advent humans fight with their body and spirit as one. As such, they have an attunement to battle which is much stronger than many races. When they fight, they are forced to devote both their mind and body to the challenge at hand. In a manner similar to the Pulse technique, Advents who truly devote themselves 100% to a fight gain a manner of intuition rivaled by the most honed of warriors.

While Shinkaronsha is active, the Advent continuously emits pulses of energy which engulfs the area of 20 meters around the Advent. Slight changes in motion, the movement of the opponent’s stance, even the falling of a single leaf will trip their senses, allowing them to actually examine its motion. This increased perception massively increases their ability to recognize and evade attack in a manner similar to muscle memory. Furthermore, it assists their ability in identifying the motion of the target, increasing their ability to recognize the movement of enemies, allowing them to identify the high-speed movement. The Advent can now recognize and track hohou at 35% of the enemy hohou rather than at 50%. To remain active, the Advent must pay 2% of their reiatsu per turn.

Requirements: 5,000 Combat, 5,000 Agility
Practitioners: Ciro Martelli

FAs -

So Undies and I spent some time thinking on what FAs should really be like. There should be sort of an indepth thing once we rework on the Feat FAQ but these two points I think really impact why we decided to change how your FA's worked Will/Beaks/Berri.

  • FA's have use limits built in, so naturally every use of FA should be written in a way that it easily shows that the use has been used up
  • FAs should be scaled back to not reach the point where they can be considered on par or stronger that kai abilities

Fated Alliance: Ryougawa Seigyo (Shared Control)

The shared spell allows the two to grab hold of one another or each other's zanpakuto, and combines their effective range together, allowing Shouaku Jukutatsu to reach up to 10m total (including space between the two). Each time they link their spells, they use up one use of their Fated Alliance.

This one was the easier of the two. It was almost there with just a slight change in the way. Personally, I really really like how this FA works.

  • They can either decide to burn up all their FA uses at once and continously link their spells up to 5 turns in a row
  • Or, they can split each use of the spell over the fight

Fated Alliance: Tan Kesshou Tsubasa (Single Crystal Blade)

Together the Dai Kidouchou and the Templar Queen are already a force to be feared, but the combination of Sayis' kidou and Tsubaki's swordsmanship only further widens the gap. To create Tan Kesshou Tsubasa Sayis must pay 10% of his kidou in reiatsu and Tsubaki must pay 10% of her zanjutsu in reiatsu: a broad-bladed greatsword of clear crystal, brimming with raw force. The greatsword can be wielded by either party. Each turn that the sword remains on the field uses up one use of their Fated Alliance. If they so choose, either party can detonate the sword on a swing, the sword sets off a violent explosion of pure reiatsu, affecting everything within 5m except the user. The force of the explosion is based on the amount of reiatsu remaining in the sword. This completely shatters the sword. To reforge, Tsubaki and Sayis must reactivate their Fated Alliance and pay the cost once more.

This one was a bit more of a change than the previous. The degradation method on top of the ridiculous stats you guys have in each of your specialties means that once 1 sword was created, it really wasn't going to go anytime soon. This change really limits how long this sword of Valhalla can last. While on the field you can use it for defense, offense, scare people by swinging Excalibur at people w/e. Just every hit you make this sword tank is going to degrade it, though you can blow it up whenever and just restart it with more rei. In it's original state this was weapon creation gone wild. Hopefully this tones it back to more of a normal level for FAs.

  • Each turn on the field uses up 1 use of FA
  • Shattering it makes the explosion with the remaining reiatsu
  • They can keep recasting their FA as long as they have the reiatsu/uses to do it

Mango - I'm going to hunt you down, probably tomorrow when my brain isn't dead. Hare and I ran into a few issues with the tech in general that we want to talk to you about first.
