Feat/Tech Submission Thread

Shiden (紫電) - “Purple Lightning”
Feat Type:
Trained

At the apex of one’s mastery over Hohou there is Shiden. Masters of this technique will find that their Senka has evolved beyond what is considered normal, and as a result overrides the original 50% difference between the practitioners Hohou and the target’s movement stat being added into the attacking stat to 75%.

Requirement: 15,000 reiatsu, 12,500 hohou

Gyakuuryu (逆流) - “Reverse Flow”
Feat Type:
Trained

When an adversary of Shinsoku attempts a shunpo or similar speed-based movement, a practitioner of Gyakuuryu may pay the same cost to jump into the enemy’s slipstream and travel to the same relative location.

Alternatively, a practitioner of Gyakuuryu may pay twice the cost of a regular shunpo to drag someone along with them, but only if the target is willing.

Requirements: 10,000 reiatsu, 7,500 hohou

Also, quick question: Can I take Animagus?

- In regards to Animagus, Nella and Fin both have the feat so you need to learn it from them. Will update feat thread accordingly.

Shiden - Denied
  • Senka by itself is already a really powerful feat becuase how much it can buff up your attacking stat
  • Against people with 12.5K hohou even dodging a senka is going to be hella difficult for most of the RP
  • Going to 75% reaches the point that even at the base req it boosts up their attacking stat by nearly 10K. Not to mention at someone like your hohou it can boost your zan up to around 40K, and is spammable with the number of shunpo uses you have for a relativly low cost

Gyakuuryu - Approved with Changes
  • Cost is going per shunpo you follow
  • Essentially for the drag you're paying for their shunpo and draining it from your own pool

Gyakuuryu (逆流) - “Reverse Flow”
Feat Type: [Trained

When an adversary of Shinsoku attempts a shunpo or similar speed-based movement, a practitioner of Gyakuuryu may pay the twice cost of shunpo, per shunpo, to jump into the enemy’s slipstream and travel to the same relative location.

Alternatively, a practitioner of Gyakuuryu may pay twice the cost of a regular shunpo, per shunpo, to drag someone along with them, but only if the target is willing. Every use of Gyakuuryu to drag someone along uses up 2 shunpos per use.

Requirements: 10,000 reiatsu, 7,500 hohou

Round 2. Removed the whole vacuum thing and basically made it so that anything that touches the mouth of either is eaten rather than the whole event horizon-based mumbo jumbo. This only works on directly-offensive attacks like Kidou and Cero, too, so not on everything (not on ambient reiatsu I guess you could say). Also added that only half of the 20% worth gathered could be absorbed in one round.

Feat Name
Nomihoudai (飲み放題, Bottomless Cup)

Feat Type

Description
The very nature of the raven-haired officer’s blade is consumption. Indiscriminate and remorseless consumption. In both of its forms, both partially and fully released, the gaping and fang-lined maw of its manifestation is exposed for the world to see, standing as not only a factor of intimidation but as an expression of that malevolent nature. In becoming more and more familiar with his Zanpakutou, Tatsunokuchi, Manzou has become just as familiar with its nature as well and, after an extended time, has learned to utilize that vindictiveness.

The mouths on the blade of its Shikai and that of the basilisk-like manifestation of its Bankai form are made into voids that pull in all directly-offensive Reiatsu-based attacks (such as Kidou and Cero). Manzou pays 5% Reiatsu per round to build up this void, capping at 20%. Any attack less than half of this cost is absorbed into the void and its Reiatsu given to directly to Manzou. He can only absorb as much as he has paid to the void; after this amount has been absorbed, the ability is undone.

Good news bad news time, Ketch.

Your feat is denied at this moment. We like the idea, but there's a lot to go over.

First of all, you're asking for this feat to do a lot. We get the theme and its logical, however there's too much going on for us to approve. Right now if you were to pay 20% of your reiatsu, you'd be able to nullify 5k worth of attacks. That's everyone's attack except maybe Sayis, and 5% is thereabout 1k. On top of that, this doesn't stop just rei-based attacks. It works on all attacks. Had you worded this differently, emphasizing all attacks rather than first rei and then later physical we might not have had a problem. It was essentially: Hey guys I wanna do this. OH AND BY THE WAY....

The next problem is the stat you're basing this off of. I get the need to identify something other players get to go off of to counter this black hole, but just to escape someone has to have 5k into their hohou. And that's using your current stats. What happens when you're up there in the 20k for zanjutsu? Combine that with the fact that you're nullifying rei attacks, physical attacks that can't escape this are crushed. Oh, and you're not just nullifying you're freaking replenishing. To top it off, anything that's at the edge of this attack can be redirected.

The first order of business that you need to address with this feat is: what will it do.

If you want a nullification feat, go with that. You can even use my Hitei Reiatsu feat as an example. It costs 4% of Hare's rei to negates spells/abilities (within 10m) equal to, and below, while reducing anything greater by that much and comes with a two turn cool-down. It's a unique feat, so you can't learn it (sorry), but its an example. And then...

If you want to go with regen, there are a good number to pull examples from. I've got Heishuu Ryuuou. It's a trained feat so you could learn it, but it isn't as flashy or impressive as Tsubaki's regen ability which is a unique.

If you want attack negate/redirect we can certainly work something out, but choose one and go with it. Hit either me or Hiren up if you need any help.

P.S. If you couldn't find the good news section, I'll restate it: we like the idea.

Have a good one.

Ketch denied

"Why?" you might ask. The answer is quite simple, my dear man/boy/pig/manbearpig, 20% is still a ridiculous number. We say 10% would be more than enough for what you want to do, and sadly you won't be getting back that full 10%. If anything the way this feat should work is that any attack you absorb will have half the rei from the charge fed to you. So at a max 10% you're only going to get a 5% return. You'll still stop anything equal to 10%, you just won't get it all.

Kakeochi is a trained feat.

[ Kakeochi (駆け落ち) - “Disappearing without a Trace” ]

At the pinnacle of one’s hohou prowess there is but a wasteland waited to be filled with purpose. Being instantaneous one can only increase the number of flash steps per turn, and thus by extent the amount of meters one can travel per said turn.

However, this is not an increase in speed and tracking is still a viable option for the very well trained eyes.

Kakeochi combats this by distorting the flash step user’s existence, leaving behind only a dust cloud of ambient reiatsu.

Practitioners of Kakeochi will thusly find themselves unable to be traced by whatever means possible, completely disappearing from sight to anyone, no matter how skilled, when executing a flash step or any of its variants.

Requirements: 15,000 hohou
Practitioners: Amaterasu Nana

So at this point I figure I can just post these repeatedly until an effect actually sticks.

EDIT: Unique feat ahoy!
EDIT 2: YAY MORE FEATS
EDIT 3: YOU GET A FEAT! AND YOU GET A FEAT! EVERYONE GETS A FEAT!

[ Senzai :: Perpetuity ]
[ Unique Feat :: Arano ]
[ Feat Slot :: Captaincy ]

A human who has stared down death time and again, yet emerged alive (yet scarred), Arano’s very existence appears to defy all conventional odds. Only now has he taken such an endurance and refined it to such a point as can be unmatched.

For every point of reiatsu Arano spends, his existing spiritual pressure increases by the same amount. This in turn increases his capacity to continue fighting, as for every 5000 bonus spiritual pressure he gains, his True Grit increases in strength by 1%, for up to a maximum bonus of 10%.

[ Houmatsu :: Ephemeral ]
[ Unique Feat :: Arano ]
[ Feat Slot :: Final Release ]

Putting high values on his own ability to attack without fear of retaliation, or to provide himself with a ready escape, Arano has cobbled together his own ability to mask his presence from what he has glimpsed of the Quincy’s and Shinigami’s own abilities to do so.

By paying 5% of his reiatsu, Arano can create one of two cloaks: a spiritual one, and a physical one. Activating the spiritual cloak suppresses all reiatsu from Arano, making his signature impossible to track by even the most advanced methods. This cloak is immediately broken if Arano actively expends reiatsu.

Activating the physical cloak causes Arano to disappear from physical sight, leaving not even the faintest outline to detect him by, though debris and other particles may give away his location under normal circumstances. This cloak is immediately broken if Arano comes into contact with any significant reiatsu signature (attack, person, item, etc.)

Shinsei Suna - "True Grit"

[ Shinsei Suna ] - "True Grit”

Compared to other races Advent Humans are easily the most physically sound. Spiritually imbued muscle and bone are able to weather powerful attacks and recover at an exponentially increased rate when compared to their non-Advent counterparts. As such, an Advent’s defensive capabilities increase in proportion to their Fortitude, as well as their Resonance. Passively, an Advent can reduce the effectiveness of an attack or ability by 5% of their Fortitude.

Overdrive: Damage reduction is increased to 8%

Requirements: 1,000 Fortitude

Feat: mogakujin (Struggler)

Trained Feat

For weak fighters, it is hard to stay conscious while powerful Reiatsu is pressing down on them.

Through constantly trying to stay conscious under these conditions, one can learn to steadily emit small pulses of reiatsu to counter a part of this heavy burden.

For a person trained in ‘mogakujin’ it is possible to resist up to twice the usual amount of reiatsu, before going down on ones knees.

Requirements: 5000 Reiatsu

Practitioners: Mitsuhito Honokaguchi (Mitsuhito)

Trying to fill one of my slots i got through pms, the other one is for shunko^^

This was supposed to be put out a couple days ago, and I don't know why it wasn't. Sorry for the late review guys and gals.

Rob, I'm sorry to say but your flash-step feat is denied. The idea behind this is good, however by giving you an untraceable flash-step new problems arise. I'm taking a stab in the dark here, but I'm guessing this is to counter-act anyone who has half the hohou of anyone with this technique. If so, it should be noted that while people with half your hohou can see you, you are still moving faster than they may be able to react. As such it's up to the players to talk this out. Untraceable flash-step, however, is a no go on the grounds that it'll cause too many problems.

Colin, your FA is on hold barring a conversation with Hiren. Ephemeral, on the other hand, is approved. ... And then there's Perpetuity. This feat is denied due to the fact that True Grit already gives you a massive debuff (5%/8% AND FREE). To top it off, the way you've got it worded here makes it sound like your not spending any reiatsu at all. Period. You spend 1k, but your rei increases by 1k. Unless you meant this to be some sort of pool similar to how overdrive works (I think I'm using the right example here), then that's all together different and shouldn't be increasing your reiatsu.

Mitsu, we'll be getting you another time.

Struggler - Denied (Kind of)

It's more denied because it solves a problem that really doesn't exist. There's no way in HD to really rei crush a PC. Sure we can do it to NPCs but even then it's like you need to be 1000000x stronger and the bastard child of promethus and espada zero. I honestly don't see this being useful and really weak for something trained feat level.

[ Kikuningyou :: Chrysanthemum-Shaped Puppet ]
[ Fated Alliance :: Arano, Ciro Martelli ]

Insanity breeds insanity, and birds of a feather flock together. Through a synergistic potential of chaos and mayhem, two mortals have transcended ordinary bonds for the purposes of levelling absolute destruction on what lays before them.

While in each other’s presence and actively expressing reiatsu, the air about the two is beset by a number of strings, both a light blue and a pitch-black. Activating Kikuningyou causes two of the threads to connect, one black and one blue. Either end of the intertwined threads then connects to Arano and Ciro for the remainder of the round.

During the round of activation, the two enter a puppet to puppeteer state, with both Ciro and Arano paying 3% of their reiatsu. In this state, Arano’s physical movements are controlled by Ciro while Arano remains free to utilize Awakening abilities and feats at his own behest. Their movements enter a sub-conscious level of synergy, their bodies reacting before their minds to move and attack in tandem. During this round, either may use any number of [ Bait & Switch ] uses or [ Empathic Block ] uses during the round. These uses do not count towards the pair’s maximum uses. While active, the effective ranges for [ Bait & Switch ] and [ Empathic Block ] are doubled. Each round active takes up one use of their Fated Alliance Technique.

Using my free slot, the one which has the basic feat

[Soul Flare] – Trained

As a fundamental ability bestowed on all shinigami, one must be capable of manipulating the flow and exertion of their spiritual energy. This reflects primarily in the usage of a warrior’s zanpakutou releases, kidou, or otherwise. However, to excel beyond these measures would mean controlling one’s reiatsu at the most basic and elementary level—particularly by channeling it from their arms into their weapons. Those trained in Soul Flare are able to release their spiritual energy into corporeal form, in this case a fiery beam of energy whose strength corresponds to its user.

By using up 5% of one’s current reiatsu, a Soul Flare practitioner can unleash a wave of raw power directly at a target 10 meters away which deals damage equivalent to its cost. As a rule of thumb, the speed in which the attack travels is proportionate to the user's zanjutsu proficiency.

As a nod to a similar ability shared by their Hollow nemesis, the color of a shinigami’s Soul Flare depends entirely on the user though the basic shade remains at light blue.

Requirements: 5,000 Reiatsu

Using one of the two submissions I purchased to replace my golem creation unique feat:

[Akashic Records]
Level: Unique - True Awakening

Within Ciro resides the legacy of both Cerberus Corporation, but of his family as well. Within Misogi the amalgamation of spirits has merged with his psyche, creating a new personality, one of the Ikikami. As a man who plays the life of others as puppets in a grand show, Ciro has learned how to impart new life into the empty.

While his awakenings are active, Ciro can impart imprints of the memories he has inherited into the puppet shells that accompany his abilities. In Initial Awakening, where the spirits have not materialized, they appear from the cards, before solidifying in front of him. In True Awakening, he controls the shells already created. When imparted with reiatsu, they harken back to a manner similar to his old abilities, as multiple strings connect him to his newly formed constructs.

A personality is imparted into the creation, though one totally under Ciro’s control. They are given a weapon upon activation, and carry a durability equal to the amount of reiatsu Ciro has paid in. They persist for a total of 3 turns, or until they are destroyed before fading. Their skill with the weaponis based mainly off Ciro’s own control, and function similarly to Ningyou Tsukaiken, as half of his combat statistic. Their speed is equal to that of an athletic human.

Ciro can target them with Sociopathy, at max cost, as well as any other substance modifying feats or kai abilities to alter their bodies. He can only create one new construct per turn to a maximum of three available at a time. This ability costs 5% of his reiatsu per creation.

Sociopathy

[ Sociopathy ]
Ciro Martelli's importance exceeds that of those around him. His former boss owes him her life, his strongest allies have willingly risked life and limb for him... and why shouldn't they? In his own self-interest to further his personal objectives, Ciro is fully capable of using his own allies when it benefits him or protects him from harm.

By paying 2000 reiatsu, Ciro can instantly change positions with any ally within 5m, regardless of their will. This cost is cut in half for each tier of United techs unlocked with the target: United Front = 1000, United Resistance = 500, Fated Alliance = 250. It may be used once per ally, per day.

[ Kikuningyou :: Chrysanthemum-Shaped Puppet ]
[ Fated Alliance :: Arano, Ciro Martelli ]

Removing Empathic Block and range-doubling. Unlimited free use of Empathic Block would make the two of them untouchable. Bait and Switch at least comes with risk to the blocker. Also added a range to the FA itself. Approved as below.

Limiting this to one at a time. The synergy with Sociopathy and the persistent durability (versus Ningyou Tsukaiken which is limited to a single attack) would make 3 at a time rather unbalanced. By paying only 15% reiatsu, Ciro could have three minions at ~20k Combat for multiple rounds. Even without the Combat, constantly having three targets for Sociopathy with no risk is absurd.

Approved as below.

[Chiron's Touch]

Type: Unique - Bankai

Thaleia has never been attuned to the demon arts, but her experience as a warrior and her time with the Fourth gave her ample time to study the human body. Focusing her study on the way the it channels energy, Thaleia can now manipulate it utilizing pressure points.

Thaleia gains five open slots in which she can equip altered chiyudou spells. The five slots function similar to kidou slots, causing spells to take up an equivalent number according to their level. By paying the reiatsu cost of the spell and touching a pressure point, Thaleia can cast the spell on the target without an incantation. For channeled spells, she must continuously touch at least one pressure point per turn. Spells cast in this manner do not drain from Thaleia’s threshold and can be modified by any other chiyudou modifying abilities. It does not, however, require the Chiyudo Division Technique. All other chiyudou channeling apply. Spells cast in this manner detract from Thaleia’s total number of spell casts per turn.

The spells she can equip depend on relatively realistic physical limitations. For example, she cannot equip spells that magically close wounds, but she can equips spells that lower blood pressure (like Pressure Seal). In addition, the spells are altered to comply with these physical limitations depending on their original form. For example, AoE spells become targeted spells.

[Masochistic Speed] (Name change possible in the future)
Trained: Using free spot obtained from one of those PM's forever ago, lets say HM PM's...

There’s something innate in the way Amaya fights, something beyond training, thought, and precision. She is constantly engrossed in a primal freedom, fueled by her masochism that breaks her away from any obstacle that could hold her back on the battlefield. Without thinking Amaya can react to a situation and survive the way few others could when overwhelmed in combat by pain, or given minimal time to react.

She has developed this into a technique that she can teach anyone with the sufficient masochistic tendencies

When a practitioner of this feat is struck in combat they may give into their primal side. If they do so, they are immediately overwhelmed with a lust to counter attack, and they strike back with a blazing speed that fueled by their masochism.

When a practitioner is struck in combat they may give into their instincts and can immediately attempt to counter attack, launching a lightning quick attack at their assailant. This ability only affects the speed of an attack, not it’s strength. Additionally the speed of these attacks becomes even more potent upon each consecutive use. Every time an attack like this is launched in the same battle it is significantly faster than the previous use.

While there is no limit to the number of times a user can use this in a single fight, there is obviously a certain number of times an individual can be wounded before finally succumbing to their wounds. Even a masochist can only endure so much.

Each strike requires 2% of the users reiatsu to launch.

[Lady of Sin]
Unique: Bankai

Giving into sin is the key to Amaya’s power on the battlefield, and while in bankai Amaya has found that she is unfortunately lacking in the strength and diversity that each of the sins brings to a battle. Due to an enormous amount of training, determination, and mastery over her sin, Amaya has found a way to use her sins of shikai while in bankai state. This effect however comes with drawback.

She may only draw the blades of each shikai ability once per battle while in bankai. Should the blade become sheathed again, or dropped, she is unable to use its effects for the remainder of the battle. Additionally the reiatsu pull from the sins is more demanding for these sins, each ability costs her an additional 25% of it’s base cost in reiatsu.

[Ikidooru no Higi ] Rage of the Arcane
Feat Level: Unique

Hisao’s mastery over the arcane and his coexistence with his inner hollow are both nearly peerless. Utilizing his unique talents, Hisao is able to morph the characteristics of his cero to perform unique tasks. By paying 1.25x the cost of a kidou spell, the elderly Imperator is able to select one of two effects. He can either hide his cero within a casted kidou spell or infuse the properties of a given kidou spell within the standard cero form. In either case, bypass rules still apply for the given spell.

- As usual if you do not like the suggested change, feel free to resub it with alterations that work for the theme you want and we can iterate through until it works to your satisfaction.

Ikidooru no Higi - Approved

Masochistic Speed - Approved w/Change
- Add a 2,500 zan requirement

Lady of Sin - Approved w/Changes
- This is a unique feat so it can be pretty good. For this feat, you essentially fill this feat slot with a shikai ability during a fight. You can pull one out once per day, but dropping the blade or sheathing it will not stop the effect. Also, there isn't a need for a cost multiplier.
