Looks like we've found ourselves in a time on the forum where there are no looming PMs, or any other major events taking place, so on that I would like to open the Iron Chef Event!

~~~~~Rewards!
~~~~~Glory!

~~~~~Teh Lulz!
~Iron Chef Event~
The event will proceed much the same as an episode of Iron Chef, though there will be no designated -Iron Chefs-. The battles will take place tournament-style between two combatants in a bracket elimination type.
For combatants there will be a 200 kan entry fee, which will go into a pot that will serve as one of the rewards for winning or placing in the event. Other rewards will include bonuses and unique items that we are in the process of working out.
The sign up sheet includes spots for contestants, an announcer (or announcers), and judges. The event is Omake, and thus anyone is welcome to join. Shinigami, Quincy, Vizard and Advent Humans are all free to join, but each writer can only admit (1) character.
Signups can be found here.
The event will follow certain rules such as a "time Limit" and a few other things that will prevent cheating or abuse of any system. These are still being worked out, this thread just lets me know who and how many I am dealing with.
Count me in! I loved the old Iron Chef. :D Whoever takes the Announcer slot totally needs to dress like Chairman Kaga for the event.
I would offer the SWA's resources to assist with this event (NPC sous chefs, SWA Figures (with Will's approval, since they're store items now) as prizes, and so on) and Adelaide will be participating in the event. Famous from her show on Food Network, Cookin' with Hiashi.
Theron, Lord of Ascania and the man who cooked for the 11th and 3rd divisions. He owns his own private restaurant in Tokyo's inner city district. Steeped in tradition, it is said that he has prepared rice for hundreds of years before moving on to even beginning to cook basic chicken or form rolls. The question is, will his adherence to tradition cost him with contemporary diners and judges?
Find out, on the next Iron Chef Seireitei!
Just for the sake of "Hey, I'm actually learning about this shit in school, kind of," I'm kind of tempted to let Nana join in on this. Even though I have no clue how good of a cook she'd even be, I'd wager pretty good considering her age and all that, but who knows.
Aaaand, totes stealing that for your into. Hell, might make everyone do a blurb intro. That was baller.
This seems to be shaping up well. For Applicants, I'm prolly full up on Floor Commentators/Announcers. Probably good on judges, too, though that might change. Looking for a minimum of 8 'combatants', ten would be better. Or would it. Anyway, planning is progressing. Almost have prizes hashed out. (Yes, there are prizes aside from the kan pot)
Announcers and Judges will be getting something for participation as well, but that has yet to be determined. Maybe some form of bonus. Or something. Just had an idea.
Anyway, It'll be around another week before I put up the next info thread, wanna give everyone a chance to pick up a spot. Also Rawb. Make Nana cook. It'll be awesome.
Straight from the heart of the wilds, he's a man who cultivates flavor and well renowned for his exotic spices. Haresuno Uchiharu, head of the Uchiharu House and Captain of the Fifth Division hails from a small village far to the South. Raised working at his mother and father's inn before he went on to study culinary styles around the world, Haresuno has opened a small chain of organic restaurants with food made from scratch. With a rich diversity in taste, will this young man's determination and grounded style be enough to win him Iron Chief: Seireitei?
You want an intro? Okay, here goes...
Maruyama Ilsa, Vice-Captain of the First Division, a woman with a passion for food. Having learned the baker's art from her father of the renowned Maruyama Bakery in the far East, Ilsa went on to expand her repertoire in the fine restaurants of Seireitei, becoming one of Soul Society's premier pastry chefs. Her attention to detail is legendary, combining elements of haute cuisine and traditional cooking to create new flavors and textures. But will she be able to adapt her time-consuming specialties to achieve victory? Find out on this episode of... IRON CHEF!
From bullets to beans, Lieutenant Nenshou Mouko has made a battlefield of the kitchen. Don't let the gunpowder cooking fool you, she's never once burnt a meal. From the jungles of 'Nam to the sands of Iraq, she's brought fresh heart and full stomachs to troops everywhere, and now she's bringing her military discipline and gung-ho enthusiasm to Soul Society. Will she be able to convince the judges that food can be a blast? Or will she crash and burn? Find out, on Iron Chef: Seireitei!
I guess some judges should have blurbs as well, right?
Roland Jacquez. Chefs far and wide fear his treading. They call him The Pickiest Man with The Hardest Stomach. It is said that no chef has ever cooked a meal that he liked, nor has any man cooked a meal that he would not eat. From Amazonian spices to the raw delicacies of the Pacific, no meal has ever given him so much as a burp or smile. However, will this all star roster of chefs be able to find that culinary sweet spot within this aged judge? Find out, on the next Iron Chef: Seireitei!
Through centuries of study, the owner of the renown Amber Teahouse, Adelaide Pierce, has found the absolute finest of the foods from around the world. Being from the British Isles, Chef Adelaide has sought great food from the corners of the globe, since there wasn't a whole lot to find locally! While her menus are well-suited for the tea-fairing crowds, does the magical chef have what it takes to make food on such a grand stage? Will she blaze like the black flame of Kokuryuha or burn to cinders like her signature Hiashi? Chef Adelaide recently vowed to test her mettle to find if she had what it took to become a Captain, but the real question is: does she have what it takes to be the next Iron Chef?
(Someone should NPC Alton Brown and have him join the announcers, or at least read the intros...)
