Kidou / Gintou Submission Thread

Cold Steel - Hadou #14, 90 Kidou

Description: The caster's zanpakuto is covered in a sheen of ice that lasts for two rounds. The ice is particularly dry, causing a burning and freezing sensation to enemies.

Incantation: "The coldest ice which burns like open flame. Hadou #14, Cold Steel."

Chikara Tsuku - Bakudou #71, 1600 Kidou

Description: The caster holds their hand out, palm downward, and then abruptly lifts it upward. Following the motion of the hand, a tangle of leafy reddish-purple vines spurts up from the ground and wraps around the target's limbs. Though the leaves themselves are safe, the vines are extremely poisonous, causing rashes on contact with the skin. The vines are extremely tough, but if torn or cut and the poison makes direct contact with the skin, it will cause the target's blood to thin, hampering the blood's ability to clot.

By the end of the first round, purplish-red camellia flowers will bloom along the vine.

Incantation: "Stretch skyward, envenomed tendrils. Share with the world the wages of vanity, the hidden thorn of the guileless plant. Bakudou #71, Chikara Tsuku."

Edit: Forgot to mention the flowers. They're just aesthetic.

Kujikubofu (捻挫嵐, Crushing Storm), Hadou #24, 400 Kidou

Description: With the user's arm pointed outward and palm-up, he/she points their index and middle finger towards the opponent. While chanting the incantation, a bright blue line draws itself in circle around the opponent/object (if the user can skip incantation, the circle immediately appears after the Hadou name is said). The circle is drawn in the user's mind around whatever object he/she wishes to affect. The circle cannot be bent or mended; it must be a circle. Once the circle and incantation are complete, the user lifts their pointed fingers upward and an extremely violent explosion occurs within the circle.

The diameter of the circle and the power of the explosion within it depends on the kidou level of the opponent. The diameter that can be drawn is limited to about 100 meters but can only be achieved by top-tier kidou users. Low-tier kidou users who draw larger circles will cause a much weaker explosion than top-tier kidou users.

Max damage can only occur within in 20-yard diameters at 400 points. For every 1000 points after that, the max damage diameter extends 5 more yards. After reaching the 50-yard diameter limit, every 2000 points after that, the max damage diameter extends 5 more yards.

Incantation: "Rain reach the complacent bottom feeders. Ye Lord reward the honest and earnest with your mercy, beat the devil's tail and awaken his nostalgic wrath. Hadou #24, Kujikubofu!"

Because I like having a RGB of eye color, I'm going to try and make a replacement Blue Eye

Blue Eye - Bakudou #5, 35 Kidou

Description: The user’s eyes start turn a bright blue, distorting their vision. While in this mode, the eyes are very sensitive to reiatsu and can easily see reiatsu attacks that are invisible or difficult to track. The spells disappears when the user cancels it.

Incantation: Whatever the old one was

Bakudou Number 51- Strum and Drang (610 Kidou)

Description: The caster slams his foot down on the ground causing a loud cracking noise to erupt, similar to thunder. Two small obelisks appear on either side of the target and emit powerful, opposing, sound waves towards the target, immobilizing it.

Extension: Hypersonic Burst (600 Kidou)

The user claps his hands together. The obelisks glow a bright purple color and the sound waves intensify to piercing levels. The target is then engulfed in high frequency sound waves, causing pain and damage to the sensitive ear. Due to the high frequency nature of the sound waves, the obelisks crumble instantly after use.

Incantation: From the land of the living, I call upon thee in the land of the dead to unleash thy fury of thunder! Bakudou Number 51 Strum and Drang!

Hadou Number 44: Prismic Blade (750)

Description: After finishing the incantation, the user places his palm on the ground. A 10 ft in diameter, circle of light appears below the target. Ten glass swords launch suddenly from the ground upwards, shredding any objects in the area. The swords travel 15 ft into the air before shattering, raining fragments of glass upon the target. At 2000 kidou the diameter of the circle and the number of swords conjured double.

Incantation: Boon from heaven reveal yourself. Rise up and shred the shadows that dance on the earth. Hadou #44 Prismic Blade!

Bakudou Number 33: Illuminating Edge (340)

Description: An advanced form of the bakudou Spectrum, Illuminating Edge bathes the user’s blade in a thin layer of light. The user can launch a flash of light from the sword. The light acts similarly to Spectrum, temporarily blinding the target and causing them to see only in a specific wavelength. This ability can be used three times before the kidou needs to be recast. The user gains an extra use at 500 kidou.

Incantation: Light be my sustenance. Illuminate the truth and cover my foes in your blessed glow. Bakudou #32, Illuminating Edge!

I'm just submitting an incantation change; I just watched episode 232 and the actual incantation for Bakudou #71, Rikujoukourou was used in this episode so I was thinking maybe you guys could replace the one that was made up for it for the actual one.

"Masked with blood and flesh, under all creation, he has been crowned with the name of man. Through the gap of the thunder carriage's wheels, have this light break into six pieces."

If it pleases the dues I'd like to resub Meteor Rain, my reasoning is that its area is pretty puny considering Hadouken, a spell half its cost, can vaporize double the area.

Original

Meteor Rain - Hadou #98, 9500 Kidou

Description: One of the most powerful and dreaded kidou there is. Only known by a few shinigami and only allowed use in sparse situations, this can be deemed one of the forbidden arts.

When activated a ominous black cloud forms above the user’s head, the cloud stretches out for about 100ft and cloaks everything in darkness. A great crimson rift is then seen in the clouds, giant flaming balls of rock about 1 yard in diameter each then starting to rain down. The specific number is unknown but it is said to be almost over 100. The meteors destroy everything within their reach, leaving only a soot-covered wasteland.

Incantation: "Children of the stars rage down onto the earth, and ravage the land. Converge and meld, ripping through the now doomed planet. Separate the heavens and the earth, crumbling everything into eternal nothingness. Hadou #98, Meteor Rain."

Meteor Rain - Hadou #98, 9500 Kidou

Description: One of the most powerful and dreaded kidou there is. Only known by a few shinigami and only allowed use in sparse situations, this can be deemed one of the forbidden arts.

When activated an ominous black cloud forms above the user’s head, the cloud spirals about the caster feeding off the reiatsu pumped into the technique before exploding outward shrouding an area of 100m in an artificial night. In this darkness crimson tears begin to form overhead from which 1m long chunks of flaming rock pour forth decimating all caught in the kidou’s shadow. The specific number is unknown but it is said to be almost over 100. Battle fields are reduced to nothing more than craters of smoldering ash in its wake.

Incantation: "Children of the stars rage down onto the earth, and ravage the land. Converge and meld, ripping through the now doomed planet. Separate the heavens and the earth, crumbling everything into eternal nothingness. Hadou #98, Meteor Rain."

Since we have a name for it...

Gates of the Four Beasts- Bakudou #98, (8000 Kidou to learn)

This legendary barriers power is such that it is said to be able to even withstand attacks from the strongest bankai. Its power lies in the multiple components contributing to the gate as a whole; any single part of the five required to form the entire spell is only a moderately strong barrier. The entire finished barrier takes the form of a 50m cube, with one side having a sunburst opening for attacks and smart opponents to enter and leave the barrier.

Incantation: Brethren in arms, never contemplating retreat. Blue Bolt, White Bolt, Black Bolt, Red Bolt. Sinking together into the sea to redeem themselves, Ryubi no Jomon, Koko no Jomon, Kigai no Jomon, Hoyoku no Jomon, Shiju no Jomon. Gates of the Four Beasts.

Gates:

Ryubi no Jomon- 2000 Kidou
The first gate is made of kidou infused pillars conjured by the caster before being placed. The side facing the opponent is smoothed however if looking at the side the caster is facing the intricate weaving setup of the pillars needed to keep it stable can be seen. This forms the front of the barrier.

Koko no Jomon- 2000 Kidou
The second gate formed creates a wheel shape, in the completed structure this forms the right side of the barrier.

Kigai no Jomon – 2000 Kidou
The third gate materializes in a beehive-like shape to make up the left side of the spell.

Hoyoku no Jomon – 2000 Kidou
The fourth gate creates a giant fan shape behind the target of the barrier, this also serves as the backbone of the barrier and as such upon its creation the full barrier begins to form connection the top and four sides of the box together, however the bottom is left open until the fifth gate is conjured.

Shiju no Jomon – 2000 Kidou
The fifth and final gate creating a circle in the center of the box with thinner versions of the rods that make up the first gate spreading out around it giving it a sun like appearance. Once this gate finishes the bottom of the structure completes.

Also:

Lazarus- Bakudou #47, 750 Kidou

This kidou makes the user appear dead to the world having all the appearance of a corpse. If examined the user will show no vital signs though all senses will work for them. This effect lasts for [user’s kidou/500] rounds or until the user cancels it.

Incantation: Shepherd me where they cannot venture. Take me beyond the gates of death and leave open the door so that I may rise again. Bakudou #47 Lazarus.

Polymorph - Bakudou #33, 350 Kidou

Description: The caster or a willing target can take on any non-humanoid form from the size of a mouse up to twice their own size. While it confers the physical traits of the creature on the caster, including relative physical strength and senses, the polymorphed individual has no access to the shinigami disciplines of zanjutsu, hakuda, or kidou while shifted. The user can cancel the effect at will, but will not complete the return to their original form until the end of that round.

Incantation: The fang, the claw, the nose, the paw. To don these traits as one would a coat. Bakudou #33, Polymorph.

Teleportation - Bakudou #56, 600 Kidou

Description: The caster can immediately transport his body to another location within 60 steps. While similar to shunpo, except with no movement for an opponent to follow, this effect does not increase in magnitude as does flash step. If the caster attempts to teleport to an invalid location -- such as into a rock -- the kidou cancels itself with a faint burst of acrid smoke at the caster's feet but the reiatsu is still spent.

Incantation: In one blink, the world traversed. Bakudou #56, Teleportation.

Resilient Sphere - Bakudou #71, 1250 Kidou

Description: The target is held in a glowing sphere of reiatsu, shutting them away completely from the battle. The target can not act or be attacked for the next three rounds, except to dispel the effect.

Incantation: The universe divides between you and all else. Bakudou #71, Resilient Sphere.

Teleportation Field - Bakudou #78, 2600 Kidou

Description: Once the incantation is completed, everything within a 20-foot radius of the caster is caught up in a chaotic spacial anomaly. For the next three rounds, all targets and objects within the effect, including the caster, are teleported randomly, up to six times per round, effectively nullifying attempts at melee or projectile combat while disorienting those within the effect.

Incantation: In one blink, the world traversed. Blink again, the world gone mad. Bakudou #78, Teleportation Field.

___

Dragon King's Breath - Hadou #59, 1500 Kidou

Description: The caster takes in a large breath, gathering oxygen and kidou energy into their lungs until it becomes dangerously volatile. The explosive mixture is expelled in a single large gout of white flame that sears the target and blows them away. The spewed flames spread in a cone whose maximum width is equal to [User's Kidou/500] in meters and the maximum range is equal to [User's Kidou/250] in meters. This caps out at 5000 kidou.

Incantation: Soaring red dog, drink the balm of flames. Into his eyes leaps the conflagration of the Lord of Wyrms. Hadou #59, Dragon King's Breath.

Mind Blast - Hadou #79, 4000 Kidou

Description: The caster enters into a purely mental battle against the target. Disregarding strength of reiatsu, hakuda, zanjutsu, and hohou, this spell pits the user's current kidou threshold at the beginning of the cast against the target's total kidou stat. After the internal clash, the loser is left mildly dazed and unable to use Eishouhaki for the next two rounds, with the time to shape reiatsu for kidou or cero attacks doubled.

Incantation: The clash of sage titans, the war of ink and numbers. Loose thy greatest calculation, brace for the mightiest cipher. Hadou #79, Mind Blast.

Kikenbutsu (Explosive) - Hadou #93, 7500 Kidou

Description: The kanji for Kikenbutsu is formed in the air and launched at the target at an incredible speed. If it lands on the target, it will cause constant damage for the next two rounds, filling the target's body with burning pain. At the end of the second round, if the initial effect is dispelled, or if it fails to hit a live target, the kanji will explode in a burst of flames, dealing half of the kidou's total damage to everything within a twenty-foot radius.

Incantation: Blood to boiling, skin to cinders, bones to ashes. The flames of life, countdown to death. Hadou #93, Kikenbutsu.

Blade Spirits - Hadou #97, 9000 Kidou

Description: Upon the utterance of this powerful kidou's incantation, a storm of swords appears overhead, even pulling the swords from the caster and any sealed or shikai-level blades within a 30-meter radius to add to the roiling armory. Three vortexes of sharpened blades form around the target, climbing from the ground to the storm clouds overhead and filling the air with the cacophony of steel swords chiming and scraping against each other. These massive tornadoes rapidly converge on the target, surrounding them in an endless stream of churning weapons.

At the end of the round, the storm seems to explode, with every appropriated zanpakuto landing in the dirt next to its owner and the remaining blades disappearing with the dark clouds.

Incantation: The edge of steel, roiling clouds, crashes of thunder, flashes of light. Dread as the darkness grows, quake as the wind howls, shrink back from the tumult of a thousand blades. Pain withstood through their creation, pain returned through their invocation. Hadou #97, Blade Spirits.

Renpatsujuu - Hadou #46, 800 Kidou

Description: A glowing pink spell circle approximately eight inches across appears inches from the caster's outstretched palm. A foot away from that circle, four smaller circles appear, three of them circling the center one. These three circles accelerate until they reach their peak speed, at which point they begin bombarding the caster's target with lances of light. This bombardment continues for as long as the caster continues to pay an additional 400 kidou per round.

Incantation: The god of destruction grants no reprieve. The infinite light of heaven punishes all sins. Hadou #46, Renpatsujuu.

*thanks to Will for hammering out the details of cost/number/etc, and some pruning of bad mechanics ^^;

The circle is drawn in the user's mind around whatever object he/she wishes to affect. The circle cannot be bent or mended; it must be a circle. Once the circle and incantation are complete, the user lifts their pointed fingers upward and an extremely violent explosion occurs within the circle.

Hadou #29 - Ryuu Kushami [Dragon’s Sneeze] 500 kidou

Description – Upon gathering kidou into the lungs, the user will expel hundreds of small fireballs from their mouth. The orbs will scatter out in various directions for about 15 feet until dispersing into air. If one of the fireballs comes in contact with a solid object it will ignite it and begin to burn larger until the object is consumed in flames. The flames ignited from this burn for 2 rounds.

Incantation: Winged lizard of the sky, feel the tickle and spit the fire, Hadou #37 Ryuu Kushami!

Looking through the submitted kidou, I decided to make some edits and resubmit. Some of it is merely rephrasing for clarity, some is simplifying. I apologize to those of you whose submissions I edited, as well.

For the most part I removed unnecessary fluff and reduced the kidou down to concrete effects.

Kujikubofu (Crushing Storm) - Hadou #24, 400 Kidou

Teleportation - Bakudou #56, 600 Kidou

Description: The caster can immediately transport his body to another location within 60 steps. Significantly slower in execution than shunpo, Teleportation's most important difference is that the caster need not actually travel the distance: they appear instantly at the destination. Because of this, it allows the caster to move to a location past obstacles or physical barriers. If the caster attempts to teleport to an invalid location -- such as inside a rock -- the kidou cancels itself with a faint burst of acrid smoke, without restoring the reiatsu spent.

Incantation: In one blink, the world traversed. Bakudou #56, Teleportation.

The vines are extremely tough, but if torn or cut the poison will seep out, thinning the target's blood on contact.

By the end of the first round, purplish-red camellia flowers will bloom along the vine.

Gates of the Four Beasts- Bakudou #98, 8000 Kidou to learn, 2000 per side

Description: This legendary barrier is said to be able to withstand the strongest bankai. Its power lies in the multiple components contributing to the gate as a whole. The entire finished barrier takes the form of a fifty-foot cube, with one side having a sunburst opening for attacks and learned opponents to enter and leave the barrier.

Each barrier can be formed individually for 2000 reiatsu at a moderate strength, but the full completed Gates of the Four Beasts requires a total of 10000 reiatsu.
Ryubi no Jomon
The first gate is made of kidou infused pillars. The side facing the opponent is smoothed, while the side the caster is facing the intricate weaving setup of the pillars needed to keep it stable can be seen. This forms the front of the barrier.

Kigai no Jomon
The third gate materializes in a beehive-like shape to make up the left side of the spell.

Shiju no Jomon
The fifth and final gate creates a ribbed wheel shape on the top and bottom, completing the spell and significantly strengthening the effect
