Kidou / Gintou Submission Thread

Canon kidou used by Urahara:

Kuyou Shibari (Nine Sunlight Traps) - Bakudou #79, 4000 Kidou

Description: Creates eight black holes that emit spiritual energy in the space surrounding the target. The combined pressure tugs the target in all directions, threatening to pull their body apart. A final black hole manifests in the center of the target's chest, tightening the hold. The first hadou cast while this spell is active will be drawn immediately and entirely to the bound target.

Incantation: Cast a memorial for heavenly light, buried in the traps of consummate darkness. Stolen shadows, rod of enmity, cast forth and draw in. Bakudou #79, Kuyou Shibari.

Senju Kouten Taihou (Thousand Hand Bright Heavenly Flare) - Hadou #91, 6800 Kidou

Description: Summons numerous spears of light that appear in the air surrounding the user. As the spell is completed, the dozens of spears are all fired directly forward at once, bursting outward in a spread formation. On impact, each spear detonates in a 5-yard radius explosion of searing light.

Incantation: Limit of the thousands hands, sacred hands of unreachable darkness, shooting hands of the invisible sky. The path that drops light, wind that stirs up the embers; do not hesitate to gather, look at my fingers. Light bullets, eight bodies, nine articles, tome of heaven, diseased treasure, great wheel, grey turret. Aim far away and disappear brightly. Hadou #91, Senju Kouten Taihou!

I'm not sure if this is how they worked in canon, but I thought it would explain the use of the black hole bakudou. So, rather than generic bind + generic auto-hit attack, we have light spear shotgun and a high-level binding with a more powerful Curse Mark.

Meteor - Hadou #77, 3,500 Kidou

Description: Just as its name implies, Meteor summons a falling star to strike the enemy. As the spell is invoked the caster chooses a fixed point within 20 meters, this chosen point is where the stone will drop. The skies above this point turn to a blackish hue, dispersing once the flaming rock has fallen to earth. Whereas mobile opponents may be able to escape, the single flaming rock is well-suited to pinpoint destruction on a fixed structure or immobilized opponent.

Incantation: "Astral stone, heed my call and crush my enemies with your might! Hadou #77, Meteor."

First one is from the manga. I like a full set of colors >_>
Second one I completely made up for the fun of it.

Oukasen (Yellow Fire Flash) - Hadou Number 32, 350 Kidou

Description: Fires yellow energy in a beam like shape at the opponent.

Incantation: Ye Lord! Mask of flesh and bone, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Vigilance and courage, the falcon hunts the world freely from the sky. Hadou #32 Oukasen

Sanjukageki (Triple Fire Attack) - Hadou Number 53, 1045 kidou

Description: Swirls together red, yellow and blue in a powerful spiral of energy that is shot out at the opponent. For the times you just don't feel like choosing a single color.

Incantation: Ye Lord! Mask of flesh and bone, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Ashes and dust, strike at the world with the power no less than three. Hadou #53 Sanjukageki

Name: Bakudou #84 - Blood Curse
Cost: 900 Kidou (1,500 to learn)
Description: Upon casting the target of this spell will feel pain at an exponential rate five times that of what they normally would. This applies to everything from sword wounds and spells to something as simple as a stubbed toe. In addition, the properties of Blood Curse temporarily override spells that would circumvent pain, such as Threshold.

While the Kidou cost of Blood Curse may be low, the spell carries a second and far more dangerous requirement with it. Upon casting, one of the caster's vital organs is shut down for as long as they maintain the spell. The organs that may be affected are as follows: Liver, Gallbladder, Kidneys (1), Pancreas, Appendix, Stomach, Spleen, Large Intestine, Small Intestine, Lung (1). The organ that is shut down is chosen at random and remains inert for as long as the caster maintains the spell.

Incantation: "Blood for blood, life for life. Let the pain of my sacrifice echo forever in my foe. Bakudou Eighty-Four, Blood Curse."

This is the quickie version of the kidou reviews. For a more in-depth version, please look here. There have been numerous rank changes, a few cost changes, and in several cases kidou have been combined or removed.

Important Note: From this point forward, you cannot submit a kidou of a rank that we already have. You can, if desired, submit to replace an existing kidou.

Bakudou

Mujuuryou (Zero Gravity) - Bakudou #7, 70 Kidou

Ginshinrin (Silver Forest) - Bakudou #50, 750 Kidou

Tenjiku Botan Kousei (Steel Dahlia) - Bakudou #53, 650 Kidou

Shade - Bakudou #60, 850 Kidou + 1.5x cost of Hadou

Kuiki Kansei (Trap Zone) - Bakudou #78, 3500 Kidou + cost of Bakudou

Kumonosu Fushibi (Webbed Ambush Flare) - Bakudou #79, 3500 Kidou + cost of Hadou

Kuyou Shibari (Nine Sunlight Traps) - Bakudou #79, 4000 Kidou

Blood Curse - Bakudou #84, 900 Kidou (1500 to learn)

Denied - The idea is unique but the costs and effectiveness are up in the air. Even with the additional 'blood' cost, I would think this spell needs to be in the 2k-3k range. That blood cost needs a clearer in-game penalty, as well, if the spell is to work well on the target.

Hadou

Oukasen (Yellow Fire Flash) - Hadou Number 32, 350 Kidou

Sanjukageki (Triple Fire Attack) - Hadou Number 53, 1045 kidou

Kikenbutsu (Explosive) - Hadou #60, 1400 Kidou

Mind Blast - Hadou #73, 2000 Kidou

Meteor - Hadou #77, 3,500 Kidou

Senju Kouten Taihou (Thousand Hand Bright Heavenly Flare) - Hadou #91, 6800 Kidou

Ittou Kasou (Single Blade Cremation) - Hadou #96, 8750 Kidou

Izanami- Hadou #99, 12,000 Kidou

Denied - Several things wrong here. First, the fact that it can be cast and held indefinitely gives it some very painful applications, especially if Kyokko is later cast on it. When cast the effect should go off immediately or shortly after. Next, the range is an indiscriminate AoE, blasting everything around. It needs to threaten the caster for one, but also, I'd hope for something more creative than a basic AoE on what will be the strongest hadou in the RP.

Chiyudo

Purification - Chiyudou #36, 400 Kidou

Placebo - Chiyudou #38, 425 Kidou

Triage - Chiyudou #48, 600 Kidou

Greater Cleansing Barrier - Chiyudou #51, 750 Kidou

Reiatsu Cast - Chiyudou #55, 800 Kidou

Restoration - Chiyudou #69, 1500 Kidou

Rejoin - Chiyudou #75, 2500 Kidou

And now for the first two Forbidden Kidou, the ones shown in canon.

Important Note: after these two, you may only submit a Kindou if you have the Kindou trained feat. Kindou will go from rank 100-109, unless something convinces me that we need more (which I doubt). They will be added sequentially -- since we have 100 and 101 here, you cannot submit 109 next: it would be 102.

Kuukanten'i - Kindou #100, 5000 Kidou

Description: A gleaming spell circle appears on the ground underneath the caster, affecting everything within a 20-yard radius. This powerful forbidden spell allows the user to enact a spatial displacement on anything and anyone within that radius, at the user's discretion, even affecting active kidou within the radius. The caster and all displaced targets appear in a new location allowing for the radius of the spell.

Though this forbidden spell is able to cross dimensional boundaries between Soul Society, Hueco Mundo, and the mortal world, it cannot pass into or out of special barriers such as the ones surrounding Seireitei and Las Noches.

Incantation: All consciousness released from essential law, spatial reality freed from mathematical walls. Consciousness itself becomes transcendent, displacing the spatial world. Kindou #100, Kuukanten'i.

Jikanteishi (Temporal Stasis)
- Kindou #101, 8000 Kidou

Description: Between the user's open palms, a gleaming three-sided pillar appears. Behind the sheen, sand can be seen pouring rapidly from the top and falling endlessly to the bottom. As the user of this forbidden spell finishes the incantation, the vivid green glow increases, blinding everything within a 20-yard radius. People, creatures, structures, kidou -- everything within the area of effect is halted in a temporal stasis, unable to act or be acted upon.

The caster may move out of the area at will, but cannot cast any hadou, bakudou, or chiyudou within the affected area. The stasis lasts for five rounds or until the caster willingly ends it.

Incantation: To knowledge belongs the rational apprehension of all things temporal. Concept of form without direction, form without climax; that which allows time to stand still. Kindou #101, Jikanteishi.

These first two were discussed with Moot and Deus. They are Approved.

Time for a Kindou I've had in cold storage for a few months...

Asobikurasu – Kindou #102 - 7500 Kidou

In its time Asobikurasu was feared for its ability to crumble even the strongest of attacks and barriers. Unlike other barriers which can only block up to the amount paid for them overall, Asobikurasu destroys any attack, barrier or active ability that costs less than it and is within 10m of the caster.

The end of the kidou’s incantation is marked by the appearance of a large circle encompassing the area of effect, and adorned by a single large hourglass decorated with numerous runic circles. Within the circle, time itself warps. This causes a strobe effect as day and night pass rapidly. Accompanied by this is the horrid sound of rushing wind barring down unrelenting to those on the outside. To those within looking out, the world around them seems to age with each passing second as everything is seen to wither, die, and turn to dust before returning to life again at the end of the attack.

Incantation: The sands of time weather down even the most stalwart of bastions. Let the dance of hours quicken as all is devoured in the maw of the ages. Remember, thou art dust and to dust thou shall return. Kindou #102 Asobikurasu.

Approved as written below:

Asobikurasu – Kindou #102, 7500 Kidou

In its time Asobikurasu was feared for its ability to crumble even the strongest of attacks and barriers. The caster summons up a localized temporal anomaly, spreading to fill a 30-foot radius around the caster. This anomaly lasts only a few seconds. During those few seconds, any attack or barrier costing less reiatsu than Asobikurasu is aged thousands of years, effectively destroying them.

The end of the kidou’s incantation is marked by the appearance of a large circle encompassing the area of effect. A single large hourglass appears overhead, decorated with numerous runic circles. Within the circle, time itself warps. This causes a strobe effect as day and night pass rapidly. Accompanied by this is the horrid sound of rushing wind bearing down unrelentingly on those outside. To those within, the world around them seems to age with each passing second as everything is seen to wither, die, and turn to dust before returning to life again at the end of the attack.

This kindou has no lasting effect on living beings or zanpakuto.

Incantation: The sands of time weather down even the most stalwart of bastions. Let the dance of hours quicken as all is devoured in the maw of the ages. Remember, thou art dust and to dust thou shall return. Kindou #102, Asobikurasu.

Onihojiru - Bakudou #84, 4000 Kidou
[ogre wheel]

Description: A luminous thick wheel of around ten feet diameter is circumscribed around the targeted area in violent speed. When the circle is finished, multiple thin wheel-rods are shot from the wheel towards its centre, anchoring multiple targets inside the binding radius, completely imobilizing them. Then, a luminescent leash is shot from the wheel towards the caster's hand.

Extension: If the holder casts a Hadou up to middle level, the spell with deflagrate through the luminous leash and deal distributed damage to the captives. Casting high level Hadou will break Onihojiru.

Incantation: "The beast howls at the forbidden gate. Silver Eye. God's trail. Endless chariot. The mauler kneeled beneath the dominator's whip. Bakudou #84, Onihojiru."

Shirohitsugi (White Coffin) – Bakudou #90, 6500 Kidou
Description: An extremely potent Bakudou to be used on a single opponent. A box of pure white energy forms around the target. The box can contain any sized target.

The coffin seals the person inside, holding them in place for 3 turns; however, it doesn’t only seal the person, it also seals their Zanpakutou along with them, reverting it back into its normal state. While in the box, the victim is completely immune to physical attacks and in incapable of making physical attacks: however, kidou can pass through the walls of the coffin, but all kidou that passes through the coffin is reduced by 50% power

The victim may break out of the white prison by expending reiatsu equal to 1.1x the spells cost.

Incantation: The Sage’s temper wanes, the unbridled god contains his rage. Ten lock, one hundred bolts, one thousand voices cry out for release. Bakudou #90, Shirohitsugi.

Extension: Shirokusari (White Chains), 7500 Kidou: by paying the extension cost, the user can create white chains of energy to bind the box, making it last for an additional 2 turns (Maxing a max of 5 turns); however the opponent can still escape by paying 1.1x the original cost.

After the spell wears off, if the extension has been used, there begins to glow a white chain on the victim’s zanpakutou. This glow lasts for two turns, and as long as the glow exists, the victim cannot release their zanpakutou.

Incantation: White Sage, Patient god. Bind this cell with alabaster might. Bakudou #90, part two, Shirokusari.

It's not set in stone as a rule, but I would like to ask that people not submit kidou way out of their league. If you're casting spells with costs in the 100s, please don't submit spells that cost thousands in reiatsu.

Onihojiru (Ogre Wheel) - Bakudou #84, 4000 Kidou

Description: A luminous thick wheel of around ten feet diameter is circumscribed around the targeted area in violent speed. When the circle is finished, multiple thin wheel-rods are shot from the wheel towards its center, anchoring multiple targets inside the binding radius, completely immobilizing them. Then, a luminescent leash is shot from the wheel towards the caster's hand.

Casting high level Hadou will break Onihojiru.

Incantation: "The beast howls at the forbidden gate. Silver Eye. God's trail. Endless chariot. The mauler kneels beneath the dominator's whip. Bakudou #84, Onihojiru."

This one is Approved. Removing the part about distributing hadou, however.

Denied. This is far too powerful for a kidou, even a level 90 one. This has several kai-level and above-kai-level effects all stacked into one. Sealing a kai for three rounds is on par with Kago's release, locking someone away for three rounds is Kindou level stuff... but then you also allow the bound person to be attacked without any chance to defend, even if at a reduced effectiveness.

A kidou spear that's half as durable will still leave the same size hole in a guy's kidney.

The extension has its own problem: why would anyone cast it? It costs more for 2/3 of what the regular spell does. It would make more sense to just recast the original at the end of the third round.

These two were used in the Manga, and they weren't named or numbered really. So, I kind of just numbered them relative to strength and gave them a random name.

AizenBarrier.png

Iron Bastion – Bakudou #34, 375 Kidou
Description: Immediately after the incantation, a flat iron wall erupts from the ground and stands in front of the user. Due to the rectangular shape of the barrier, it is especially effective in blocking hits from zanpaktou and other bladed weapons.

Incantation: Rise oh maddening gala of the earth, erupt in your imperial wall! Bakudou Number 34, Iron Bastion.

Image #2
Unnamed_Hexagonal_Barrier_(Aizen).png

Solanum – Bakudou #80 [4000]
Description: One of the most effective barrier kidou, due to its speed of use and effect, a large, transparent green, hexagonal shaped barrier appears around any point of the user’s body. Energy based attacks are drawn to the center of the barrier before dissipating. Due to the speed that this barrier forms in, it is extremely effective in blocking the user’s blind spot.

Incantation: Flowering nightshade bloom! Black petals form in a bitter symphony! Bakudou Number Eighty, Solanum!

Approved as changed:

Iron Bastion
- Bakudou #34, 375 Kidou
Description: Immediately after the incantation, a wall of energy erupts from the ground and stands in front of the user. The barrier is rectangular: two feet wide, and eight feet high. It is especially effective in blocking hits from zanpakutou and other physical weapons, but somewhat weak against energy-based attacks.

Incantation: Rise oh maddening gala of the earth, erupt in your imperial wall! Bakudou #34, Iron Bastion.
Solanum – Bakudou #86, 5000 Kidou
Description: A contingency barrier, this bakudou is cast ahead of time to protect a specific, small area of the user's choosing, such as the back of the neck. The protected area would be little larger than an open palm, and the barrier is impossible to detect once in place. When the protected area is attacked, a large, translucent green, hexagonal barrier rapidly expands outward, absorbing even the most powerful attacks completely and pushing them aside.

Only one Solanum may be in effect per caster and the barrier takes two full rounds to charge up after casting. The barrier is of limited protection against wide-range or area-effect attacks: it only activates when the chosen area is targeted directly. The barrier will remain in place for most of a day.

Incantation: Flowering nightshade bloom! Black petals form in a bitter symphony! Bakudou #86, Solanum!

Big Bounce - Bakudou #6, 65 Kidou

Incantation: God of Winds, rejoice and lift our bodies along with your spirits! Bakudou #6, Big Bounce.

Description: The caster twirls of of his/her fingers in a circle before he/she says the incantation. As the incantation is uttered, a compressed ball of air will appear within each area that the caster has been circling. After they finish the incantation, the balls of air will move to the soles of the caster's feet. The caster can release the compressed air at anytime within ten seconds of the casting. Once released, the balls will propel the caster at high speeds in the direction that his/her feet are facing. It can also be used to push your opponents back with a kick.

Big Bounce - Denied

While an interesting idea, the Bakudou #6 spot is already filled. If you think Big Bounce should replace Tensoku, then you need to submit a reason why Big Bounce is better than Tensoku.

Keep in mind there are also kidou that have similar effects to what you describe.

*burp*

All barriers should have a cap of resistance equal to 1:1; If a barrier costs 3k to make, it stops 3k worth of attack then breaks. 5k=5k, and so on. This way, silly barriers are not stopping 20k rei attacks for 5000 rei barriers., but instead reducing the attacks value to 15k.

If its not done this way, barriers set the entire pace of a fight and become the strongest thing in the RP.

Unless otherwise stated (like Dankuu or Kaiousei no Tate), this is already the case. Barriers like Kyoumon, Iron Bastion, Enkosen, etc, already work against either attacks up to their costs or comparative attacking stats (5k kidou Tangent versus 10k zan attack, zan will win).

I noticed the 90+ hadou don't have any electrical type kidou so . . . I give you Koukan Rakurai.

Koukan Rakurai Hadou #99, 15000 kidou
One of the most feared and scarcely used Hadou, Koukan Rakurai is a means of single target eradication without peer amongst its destructive counterparts. Summoning forth a tremendous host of kidou energy, the caster attunes his attack to a single spiritual pressure near by. Unleashing the entirety of the kidou at the target, the user generates a cylinder of energy extending fifty feet into the air and with a diameter of nearly ten feet. While in existence, the energy considers only the designated spiritual pressure to be a conductor, arcing and traveling through it. It has the equivalent electrical power of an entire storm cell, making the attack extremely potent and generating lethal heat from friction and wreaking tremendous internal discord.

This kidou is most effective when the caster is near the target, so that all of the corona's energies can affect them.

The flower blooms in the twilight of existence, desire tears free the domain of power and gives birth to prodigy. Defy of the damnation of fates, at the cost of my soul I give breath to life and death! Hadou number ninety nine, Koukan Rakurai.

Denied.

I'm not entirely clear whether this is a beam attack, an auto-hit from the sky, or an effect that centers on the caster. Like my first impression is a beam, but you mention it stretching into the sky. While at first that makes it sound like a vicious lightning strike, then you mention being close to the target for most effectiveness.

That aside, I want to see something a little more impressive for the strongest Hadou. The way this is described, Ittou Kasou seems to be similar and stronger, despite the lower cost and different element.

These are the revised chiyudou. And uh... since there's a whole ton of them, here's a google doc
https://docs.google.com/document/ed...y8qNTxDE4qxCQULq2YdBQ&authkey=CLqQpc0L&hl=en#
Changes are highlighted in Red.

Also, I wonder if this change could be applied to
Sanjukageki (Triple Fire Attack) - Hadou #53, 1045 Kidou

Description: Swirls together red, yellow and blue in a powerful spiral of energy that is shot out at the opponent. For the times you just don't feel like choosing a single color.

This kidou has no slot cost if the user has Shakkahou, Oukasen and Soukatsui is equipped.

Incantation: Ye Lord! Mask of flesh and bone, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Ashes and dust, strike at the world with the power no less than three. Hadou #53, Sanjukageki
