:: The Second Halcyon Days World Tournament ::

Seeing as we're in the middle of a summer slump, let's try to rejuvenate things!

*drum roll*

The Second World Tournament, unlike the first, would be a canon tournament and take place in the human world. Also unlike previous tournaments, there are not going to be separate cups! Instead anyone may end up facing anyone else. Unseateds may fight Captains. However... there are plenty of ways even the odds...

Joining the Tournament is optional, as it's supposed to be a way to keep the RP going in this between PMs lull. Furthermore, entrance into the tournament is free for Primary and Secondary PCs. NPCs are also allowed to enter but there will be a fee and a review before they enter, as to make sure that they're balanced out.

The tournament will have a single bracket, but rankings will be based off a point system. There will be several random handicaps and bonuses to allow unseateds to give captains a run for their money. The seeding will be random, allowing characters the opportunity to meet and fight people they might not normally be able to. Furthermore, there will be a variety of prizes and titles up for grabs!

If you are interested in entering, answer the poll so we can get a rough headcount and gauge interest.

I admit hesitancy; power discrepancy even between captains is massive and the idea of somehow being able to have Adele fight Sayis is a horrifying notion.

Like mentioned in the write-up, we're creating some things to limit this situation. Also, sometimes the best fights are against stacked odds. Some of the best fights in the original tournament of Seireitei were when people were faced with staggering odds. Often this amps up the number of wow plays and really show off the cool things about your character. What I'd really like to see from this from this tournament is a chance to fight with people you might not be able to in normal situations. Since this is canon, the rivalries that might be created could be awesome.

Indeed....and it comes at a bad time for me...considering i'll be headed to Jamaica soon...arounf the 26th...and won't be back to the 12 of august

Sure, why not? (Famous last words, I know.) Given the recent crackdown on shinigami doing anything fun on Earth, I'll be interested to see how the tournament organizers get around the "thou shalt not go to Earth unless you're doing your job" law.
