Amagoi (Rain Prayer) - Bakudou #57, 800 Kidou
Description: The user cups their hands together and creates a miniature cloud of reishi inside of it, then releases it into the air above. The atmosphere changes as the clouds darken, blocking the sun and swelling up with water. The energy released into the sky causes a twenty meter radius area to have a downpour of rain on it. The rain lowers visibility and causes everything to be over run with water, much like flooding. The air's moisture content greatly increases and the ambient temperature will drop low enough for one to see their own breath. The kidou lasts for three turns and gains an additional turn for every 1000 kidou the user has, maxing out at ten turns.

With a greater moisture content in the air and the abundance of water, the next water or iced based kidou has its duration extended by one turn (if it is a constant effect) or its range extended by five meters in the case of projectiles or direct attacks. This can be applied to only one kidou. The rain and temperature change will not end until the spell has run its course. This has no effect on any fire or heat based kidou.

Incantation: The deity of the skies, bound to her clouds. The celestial of the rock, confined to his mountain. The deity laments, connecting heaven and Earth for an instant with her sorrow. Bakudou #56, Amagoi.

A half-dozen submissions across two members of the RP later, and we finally have a version that is nearly there. The incantation has the wrong number. Correct that to 57 and you can consider it APPROVED, finally, along with the removal of Divining Bolt. But all silver linings have dark clouds.

Extension: Shamen no Izumi (Fountain of Absolution) - 900 Kidou
Description: At any given time during Amagoi, the user may flick their hand upwards to summon a geyser of water underneath their opponent to hold them in place. The user may halt up to three targets at once in this manner, but the kidou's power will be split accordingly. Each geyser lasts for one turn.

Incantation: Lakes and rivers, offer your tears! Unite your empathy with the sorrow from above! Part two, Shamen no Izumi!
This one, however, is DENIED. Because let's think this through - a person who has the requisite kidou stat can, once a turn for ten turns, knock three people on their ass. And since its an extension, it doesn't even count as a casting. So, I can cast this, knock everyone on their ass, target them with another kidou, and then do the same next turn. For ten turns. To say nothing of the fact that the thematic link between the two could use some more development. So, you have a weak explanation for an extension that can disable three people a turn for ten turns and not count as a kidou? Yeah, this might need to go back to the drawing board.

Note for Katie
Ok, so I never intended for it to be multi-uses. I should have been more clear. Also, thematic development abound!

Extension: Shamen no Izumi (Fountain of Absolution) - 900 Kidou

Description: At any given time during Amagoi, the user may flick their hands upward to summon a geyser of mud underneath their opponent to harden around the enemy and hold them in place. The user may bind up to three targets at once when cast, but the binding's power will be split evenly between each of them. Each mud binding lasts for two turns and the user cannot lower or utilize their hands during its duration. They are subject to all barrier and binding laws. Once the binding ends, the rain will cease and the clouds of reishi will fade away.

Incantation: Dryads of the Earth, children of the celestial! Hear the weeping of your master's love and ease the sorrow of his former mistress! Bakudou #67 Part Two, Shamen no Izumi!

Although you end the primary kidou when the extension ends, which is a nice way of stopping it from multiple uses, except for one small thing. And that small thing means it's DENIED again. See, imagine this happens: the main kidou ends when the bindings are over. But since extensions can be cast every turn, it can be cast again to extend the binding, or bind three new targets for two more turns. And we can cycle these around and around until the effect ends. So, rather than prevent it from disabling three people for ten turns, you actually accidentally created the ability for the caster to disable now six people for nine or ten turns. You inadvertently created a loophole that a truck can be driven through.

Sorry this took so long, I spent most of the day rushing writing.

Kyakka (Dismissal) - Hadou #82, 4150 Kidou

Description: Upon casting, the user flicks a single finger toward their target as if knocking off a particularly bothersome pest. From said finger, a circular ring of compressed air and reishi is generated that pushes against the target in a single direction with violent force. It will not stop pushing an object in its path until it has reached a distance of 35 m. This spell has enough force to push an opponent through even buildings. Naturally, this spell also has applications in terms of destructive potential as well.

Incantation: The rabid admirer making his final advance. A distant father returning to repair a burnt bridge. The persistent student eager for one more lesson. Depart! Take but an eon to temper your passions! Hadou #82, Kyakka.

Cool. Highlights for me: this isn't electricity-based (a bigger deal than you'd think), this is like a more intense Daishou. I mean, there's some 'within reason' that ought to be applied here, but comparing the cost to Daishou it's certainly able to wreak some havoc. So, sure. APPROVED. Send some poor fool for a ride.

Srs these probably suck:

Stasis Lock - Chiyudou #63 - 1500 Kidou
Many a time, a situation presents itself that makes direct healing either dangerous or impossible. As such, the medic can choose implement stop-gap measures to prevent the worsening of the injury. By placing their hands over the chosen wound and chanting the spell, a golden light covers the injury.

For the next four turns, the wound will be preserved in its exact state. The injury will not worsen, nor can outside influences enter and infect the wound. The size of the area preserved is roughly the size of the user’s hand. This spell does not need to be channeled. The user may repay the cost to refresh the duration. Only one instance of Stasis Lock can occur at a time.

Incantation: Hold the unending march of the time, let the dynamic tempo return to a standstill. Let the wait, yearn for the impending finale. The conductor's baton waits to resume the coda. Chiyduou #63, Stasis Lock.

Oblivion - Chiyudou #87 - 3500 Kidou
A spell reserved for dire circumstances alone, the patient is placed in a forced coma to prevent their condition from worsening. The user places both of their hands over the targets face before calling out the name of the spell. Channeling their reiatsu into the patient’s brain they can gradually shut down non-essential mental functions temporarily. This induced coma naturally lasts a week before fading and is only usable outside of combat. Channeling the spell in full takes time for correct application, roughly half an hour. While in this state, the patient regenerates 10% of their reiatsu per day until awakening.

A much more limited version of this spell can be used offensively in combat. If the user successfully strikes the target, the target is overwhelmed with tiredness and fatigue, disorienting them.

Incantation: Close your eyes soldier, return your mind to a time long past. Once upon a time begins now. Let the tales of heroes echo as you fall into slumber. The world will wait until you awaken once again, reborn, renewed. Chiyudou #87, Oblivion.

Purge - Chiyudou #2 - 20 Kidou
A simple chiyudou often used before more advanced spells, this spell’s main function resides in the cleaning and disinfection of injuries.. The user’s hands seem to steam with energy. Placing their hands over a wound completely cleanses the wound of any infectants and facilitates healing.

Incantation: Begone corruption that seeks to ruin pure souls. Chiydou #2, Purge.

And, now, one-at-a-time heroic kidou review! Why? Because I could be grading right now and have no desire to actually do that, nor do I have a desire to write a new Lily article, so... here we go.

So, like, Solanum for Chiyudou? Yeah, okay. Let's go with that. It's time-limited, it reminds me of Triage (the non-channeling has precedent), and the idea of a wound-barrier is kinda like a chiyudou band-aid. Sweet, right? Yeah, it's legit. APPROVED. But here's my only thing, what circumstances are you aiming for here? Chiyudou is already combat healing, right? So, I guess if you can't channel for some reason, then I guess it's useful

So, I need some clarification on this one so I guess I need to ask for a RESUBMIT. What's the desired use here? Is this 10% per day thing a matter of, like, accelerating stat bleed? Because if so I would need Will's approval before even reviewing it. If not, I'm not hugely sure what application this could have. Additionally, the battle application needs to be developed a bit. Are people fatigued as long as the spell is channeled, or if not for how long? Do people outside combat need to be willing targets, or could, say, Lucia tie someone up and induce a coma? If she did that last one, would Lucia be particularly vile enough to do it? Don't answer the last one, we both know yes.

And it could be handy for steam-cleaning clothes! APPROVED! But seriously, this seems like an important thing to do for medics, particularly if they're doing otherwise mundane healing efforts. And I can think of a couple clever combat applications for this spell if you have a particularly cruel healer.

Let's get some more gintou. :Hypnoparrot:

Gerade:

Hornisse | Hornet
Cost: 2 tubes
Description: Hornisse was developed as a dual purpose offensive and defensive weapon. Hornisse tubes are made of steel, but are specially segmented so as to be easily collapsible. When crushed, a dense cloud of specially barbed spirit particles is released, which will then proceed to seek out the nearest spiritual signal that is not the user. The spirit particles will harass the target in the same manner angry hornets would, repeatedly stinging them with the barbs. The spirit particles can only be dissipated prematurely through area of effect attacks or by releasing large amounts of reiatsu. This effect lasts for 1 turn.

Requirements: 3,000 reiatsu

Sprengen:

Knöchel Esser | Ankle Biter
Cost: 2 tubes
Description: Designed for close quarter combat, Knöchel Esser effectively functions as a reishi tripwire. By opening two Knöchel Esser tubes and binding them together briefly, a thin, barely visible strand of spirit particles forms that can be stretched out to 2.5 meters. These tubes can then be attached to surfaces or the ground, reishi wire intact. When the tubes have been attached to a surface, the wire becomes armed. Anything that breaks the wire (which is quite fragile) will set off a small, but concentrated and devastating explosion of about 5m in diameter.

Requirements: 5,000 reiatsu

Boukun Gukou (Tyrant’s Folly) - Hadou #26, 270 Kidou

Description: The user holds their arm in front of them and coats it with a layer of kidou energy. By applying additional reiatsu in the form of heat, the user’s arm is then lit ablaze. This flaming limb will burn for two rounds. While this does not cause damage to their own arm, it will incinerate any fabric on the target area. This spell is often used in close-combat situations but has some practical uses for environmental warfare.

Incantation: Shadrach! Meshach! Abednego! May your faith stay you from the tyrant’s burning temper! Hadou #26, Boukun Gukou!

Extension: Boukunro (Tyrant’s Furnace) -330 Kidou

Description: The user projects the flames on their arm forward. This results in a stream of fire reminiscent of a flamethrower. This stream of flame has a range of three meters and is directed by the motion of the user’s hand. The value of this attack is factored using all reiatsu paid into the spell. This spell may be maintained for one full round.

Incantation: His keepers melt before the pit of flame, destroyed by the hot rage of the tyrant’s icy heart! Hadou #26 part two, Boukunro!

Heythere. RESUBMIT! Please include the original hadou you wish to replace, because I am a lazy Toshino. Also, this should be an emoticon.

SOOOOOOOOO SOOOOORRY! Rule of thumb guys, if it takes more than three days, come find me, I probably didn't see you.
Anyway, loopy sleepy Katie review powers activate! This one is
DENIED on a couple very technical grounds. Gintou tubes aren't based on spell. What I mean is, let's say for reasons unknown that I am a Quincy. I have ten tubes. I can spend these ten tubes however I want. Unlike Shinigami who are prepared casters, I'm a spontaneous caster. Very Dungeons and Dragons. Also, we have a two-tube spell in this school already. I think this can easily be retooled as a one-tube spell, but as-is there's too much work to do to it to have me approve with changes.

Requirements: 5,000 reiatsu

Again, tubes aren't spell-specific, but I think we can find our way to APPROVE this one WITH CHANGES. First, nix the rei requirement and second generalize the reference to these tubes specifically to Gintou tubes in general and you are good to go!

Just to add a little clarification, since I've seen people confused by this:

A Quincy does not need to equip or prepare spells. Every approved Gintou is available at all times. So, if there were 25 available Gintou (five in each school), all Quincy would be able to cast any of the 25 spells at any time -- as long as they have enough tubes.

The tubes are fuel cells, not caster shells.

What I want replaced
Kaminari (Lightning Bolt) - Hadou #26, 270 Kidou

Description: An orb of electricity 1m in diameter is shot overhead. When passing over a target, it will unleash a bolt of lightning directly downward.

Incantation: The forbidden tower devours nine stars. The eye of the heavenly god cries. Hadou #26, Kaminari.

Why I want it replaced
This spell has little chance of being dodged due to its set-up. While closer to acceptable for higher level spells, it seems a bit op for a one slotter. My biggest problem with it is not any of this, however. My biggest problem is that Kaminari is just plain generic. No theme, no finesse, just general lightning strike. It's boring. Flamethrowers kick ass. Thematic flamethrowers kick even more ass.

Boukun Gukou (Tyrant’s Folly) - Hadou #26, 270 Kidou

The removal of Hadou 26 is reasonable, and so is the replacement. For the most part. So, the 'light yourself on fire' thing is fine, but there's a loophole I need to close in the Extension. So, here we go: APPROVED WITH CHANGES. At the end of a round where the extension is used, the spell's fire is extinguished. Amusingly, that means Hadou 26, 27 and 28 all have extensions now. I feel like I'm losing my war against them. But this one's legit because it turns this spell into a fire-based version of Hadou 24.

Fufufu... let the Quincy restoration begin!

Gerade (School of Direct Fire)
Hohlen Traum (Hollow Dream) - 1 tube

  • At some point in the past, the Quincy realized that the Soul Reapers had been wiping the memories of their ancestors. Several generations of failed attempts to replicate the technique later, this Gintou was born. By breaking the tube and applying its stored reiatsu to an arrow, it is imbued with a concussive force that explodes against the opponent with just enough force to make them stumble back one meter. Upon direct contact, this Gintou-infused arrow will forcefully erase the last ten seconds of their memory. This sudden mental alteration causes a sense of disorientation within its target, causing them to feel dazed and confused for two rounds. It is a similar state to the feeling of awakening from a deep slumber, making the opponent slow to react to attacks and sudden situations.

Sprengen (School of Blast Areas)

  • Höllenschlund (Jaws of Hell) - 2 tubes
    • Long ago, a Quincy claimed to have walked towards death after being severely injured. He described his experience as “a glorious white embrace.” It turns out that it was merely his proximity to the first use of this spell in combat. This Gintou calls forth a large dome composed entirely of white fire to consume its opponent whole. The tubes are attached to an arrow and shot towards an opponent, but will not activate any further than ten meters from the caster. The point of impact serves as the focus for the jaws that emerge, with the mouth having a total diameter of five meters and reaching five meters tall at the crest of the bite. Even after the initial bite, the area affected by Höllenschlund will continue to burn for three additional rounds.
  • Weiner Hände (Winterly Hand) - 4 tubes
    • By breaking the tubes and placing them in between one’s fingers, a Quincy can summon a focused hailstorm by slamming their hand against the ground. The hand slap is necessary to indicate which direction the spell is supposed to travel. This storm launches hail the size of a grown man’s fist in a focused cone similar to that of Sekienton or Hyouga Seiran. The range of this spell is 20 meters and its spread is around 10 meters. In addition to being highly painful due to the hail assault, all non-spiritually charged surfaces are completely frozen over. This makes high speed movements such as Shunpo or Sonido very risky to perform. The frozen area will thaw out after five turns. Due to the nature of Hiryenkyaku, it is not affected by the ice.

Hemmen (School of Inhibition)

  • Schmetterling Schlinge (Butterfly Snare) - 3 tubes
    • After a mountainous Quincy tribe dealt with yearly swarms of airborne Hollows, this spell emerged as an effective counter to both aerial menaces and large groups. This spell is applied by breaking, then subsequently attaching the tube(s) to an arrow about to be fired. After either hitting a target or reaching a distance of 20 m, a net will emerge from the tip of the arrow. With an impressive spread of 8 meters, this net is effective at containing and slowing highly mobile enemies. This binding is numerically worth 1000 reiatsu and has a duration of two turns.
  • Sarg (Coffin) - 2 tubes
    • After pouring the tubes on the ground near the opponent, the ground protrudes upward around the target in the form of 4 earthen walls. The area of the box differs based on the opponent, though, cannot be used on especially large beings (such as Menos Grande). A box then closes on the top and descends back into the ground, trapping the target within. This binding is numerically requires 800 reiatsu to break when attacked from the inside and 400 reiatsu to break when attacked from the outside.
  • Große Cocken (Grand Bell) - 3 Tubes
    • Gigantic bell is formed over the head of the opponent and falls over them, leaving them trapped. From the top of the bell, a large clapper shoots through the middle, aiming to hit the opponent within. Even if the opponent is not struck by it, the clapper lets off an extremely loud ring upon impacting the ground that disorients the opponent.

Verbessem (School of Enhancement)

  • Segen der Gaia (Blessing of Gaia) - 3 tubes
    • While the dominant mindset of the Quincy is that of the hunter, it is also important that they preserve what few archers they have left. This Gintou allows one to draw a small amount of energy from the Earth itself to repair a limited amount of damage. After breaking, a Quincy must plant two tubes into the ground. The third will establish a link with the broken tubes, siphoning the earthly power via the original tubes into itself. To heal, the Quincy must apply the tube directly to the wound in question. Over the course of two turns, this Gintou can reduce the severity of a wound by one level (Lethal to major, major to moderate, moderate to minor).

Schranke (School of Barricades)

  • Beschützer (Buckler) - 1 Tube
    • The most simple protection offered by a Gintou. By breaking one tube and attaching it to an arm, a plain circular shield will expand outward from the point of placement. In terms of appearance and functionality, it works exactly like a wooden buckler would and is strong enough to deflect several blows from an unreleased zanpaktou while it lasts. The shield has a diameter of 16 inches, around the size of an average forearm. While effective at deflecting physical blows, it is of limited use against energy attacks with a numerical worth of around 300 reiatsu. The natural duration of the Gintou is three turns.

Did I hear someone say "Kill all Quincies"?

I guess it's direct fire since you put it on an arrow, but it feels like an Inhibition gintou to me. If you wanna call it Direct Fire, though, I'll accept your logic and APPROVE your gintou with one little aside: remember the relative strength of gintou tubes - one tube is a fairly weak ability, and elongating it for two turns means you shouldn't expect total lack of concentration.

Okay, I'm APPROVING these as well, but I want it noted for future reference that Gintou are tools of the hunter, and while I can see how these abilities are hunter's assets, they do really seem to hit that theme indirectly.

This set calls for a RESUBMIT. Choose, choose the form of the destructor. Choose and perish. (Translation: only one Gintou can exist in a particular school at a particular cost. Pick which one of your Three-Tubers you want to submit.) The two-tube one is nifty and a nice play on the age old box-on-a-stick trope, so it's APPROVED, but for the other two... two gintou enter, one gintou leaves.

KATIE NEEDS A CONSULT, WILL.I.GM!Are Wound Levels being phased out? I seem to remember that being a thing.

It's APPROVED, but can we say "pour on an arm" instead of smashing it against yourself. Seems a little counterproductive to bury glass in your skin in order to protect yourself.

Currently, no. The system works, even though it's a little awkward/indistinct (maybe because of that).

Also, the tubes are made of silver, not glass, so that might be even worse.

A quick reminder, too: each school will have one spell of each strength. You can't have two spells in the same school that are both three tubes, for instance.

Will's open slots list told me this one's free soooo...~
I know it's not along the lines of increasing cost by number, but I felt like this one needs more consumption because effect.
Posting it here because chat. And suggestions. And doing more than suggested.

Sanseiu (Acid Rain)- Hadou #79, 4500 Kidou

Description: An elemental kidou, Sanseiu transforms the natural phenomenon into something more deadlier than it already is.

Upon the start of the incantation, a dark grey sky forms overhead in a 50m radius area, with bolts of lightning contained within. Upon finishing the incantation, it opens itself up, unleashing a heavy downpour of acid rain within its vicinity, harming everything it touches. While the corrosive acid already does much damage, its real power lies in the rain's immense density and pressure that batters upon everything, making it literally impossible to stand against its unforgiving power, forcing everything into submission. However, for those who do resist, nature has its own punishment for the insolence: for every movement made within Sanseiu's range, a large bolt of lightning strikes down towards the source of movement, with larger and more numerous bolts heading towards those who moves too much or too fast.

Sanseiu will remain active for four rounds before dissipating.

Incantation: Trial of thunder, wonder of winds! The storm which bears the wrath of Gaia! Rage and calamity, punish the insolent and silence those who remain! Hadou number 79, Sanseiu!

Subbing a few gintou, and asking that Glue be replaced. It's very situational and, while lasting a long time, only covers a very small area.

Bluthunde | Blood Hound
Cost: 5 Tubes
Description: Almost as inhuman as the hollows that the quincy fight, Bluthunde works by placing five tubes on the ground in front of the caster, who then proceeds to smear a drop of blood on each of the tubes. The blood reacts, boiling the liquid within and popping the tubes. The boiling liquid bubbles up, creating a red spectral dog. Each dog is identical to the others in its set of five, but each set is unique to the caster.

Upon being summoned, the dogs immediately single out targets, each one finding their own prey then going straight after them, bypassing any barriers or obstacles that are less than 2,000 reiatsu in strength. Once they reach their target, each hound attempts to viciously maul it, biting and tearing at its body until it is destroyed.

Jägerauge | Hunter’s Eye
Cost: 1 Tube
Description: The first Gintou taught to most quincy children. By drawing the liquid within the gintou over their eyes, a quincy is able to enhance their vision, Giving them the ability to visually see any reiatsu sources within 30 meters. This ability works for 5 turns or until turned off.

Geistwandeln | Ghost Walk
Cost: 4 Tubes
Description: By dousing themselves with the liquid from this gintou, quincy’s can temporarily become a deadly unseen predator, gaining almost complete invisiblity for the next two turns. This invisibility, however, is precarious, and ends immediately if the quincy uses any sort of reiatsu, even from their Shuuhaku.

Traumwicklung | Dream Coil
Cost: 4 Tubes
Description: One of the strongest gintou available to quincy, Traumwicklung works by smashing all five gintou tubes in a tight cluster on the ground. From the impacted area, purple snares come out, latching onto the leg of any enemy within 10 meters. The affected enemies will find themselves unable to move further than 10 meters away from the center of the affected area. This ability lasts for 3 turns, and is counted as being a binding that costs 2000 reiatsu.

Also was given Bish's permission to resub Butterfly Snare under new parameters.

Schmetterling Schlinge | Butterfly Snare
Cost: 1 tube
Description: After a mountainous Quincy tribe dealt with yearly swarms of airborne Hollows, this spell emerged as an effective counter to both aerial menaces and large groups. This spell is applied by breaking, then subsequently attaching the tube to an arrow about to be fired. After either hitting a target or reaching a distance of 20 m, a net will emerge from the tip of the arrow. With an impressive spread of 8 meters, this net is effective at containing and slowing highly mobile enemies. This binding is numerically worth 500 reiatsu and has a duration of two turns.

Große Cocken | Grand Bell
Cost: 3 Tubes
Description: Gigantic bell is formed over the head of the opponent and falls over them, leaving them trapped. From the top of the bell, a large clapper shoots through the middle, aiming to hit the opponent within. Even if the opponent is not struck by it, the clapper lets off an extremely loud ring upon impacting the ground that disorients the opponent.

EDIT:
Also want to ask for a change in response to the new Level 1 Barricade gintou. Simply doubling the range on Cloud and make it 2 gintou instead of one.

Wolke | Cloud
Cost: 2 Tube
Description: One of the most basic and widely used Gintou. After breaking the tube, Wolke causes the immediate area, within a 10m radius, to become filled with a thick fog of reishi which lasts for three turns.
